More Studio J - baby pics of Ben!

I know - more Studio J, but I really did whip out a bunch of different layouts so quickly with this new tool! I already uploaded baby pics of Max and Gabe done in studio J, so I thought Ben deserved a shout out too! I am working on paper scrap pages too - more artwork coming soon!

You've got to go in and try Studio J out - I feel like Sam I Am offering you Green Eggs and Ham...try it, and you may, I say! For this page I did a bunch of the distressing filters - adding ink to the edges of the "CS" pieces and "sanding". Super fast and easy, and no inky fingers. How will the boys recognize me without my inky fingertips?

Need more incentive to get out there and try Studio J other than fun, awesome, and fast scrapbooking done in your PJs while watching your favorite show? Send me a screenshot of the layout you make in Studio J and you'll get a ticket in my drawing this month for a FREE 12 x 12 album! No purchase necessary to win, but purchase a Layout and get 10 tickets per layout purchased as well!  Team members with no website, this is open to you as well.

Hop on out to my website and try it!  I'd love to hear your feedback, and have I mentioned it's FREE to try it, and you don't have to download any software to your computer? Risk free!

P.S. If you've already got a link to my website bookmarked, you might want to update the bookmark to reflect the whole address, as my forwarding has gone wonky and no one seems to be able to fix it right now.

Spring Layouts from Studio J!

OK - Studio J is launching tomorrow! I made these with the new online only Easter Kit - gosh I wish this one came in paper too! Studio J is going to have seasonal, online only kits. You can check it out for yourself starting tomorrow on my website: http://stampingrules.myctmh.com/  Best of all, there's no software to download, no purchase required, no commitment at all! I'm planning to use it as an easy pre-design software (in addition to printing some of the layouts) so I can plan out my purchases and projects and see what I'll be making in paper before I cut my materials, too!

I did two sets of Easter pics plus some silly pictures we took at the Lego Store playing with friends.  I love the Lego pictures, but I wouldn't have scrapped them if not for Studio J. They weren't the best quality and had a sort of yellow tinge to them, but they look amazing with this color palette. I love being able to resize the StickEase images so they scale better with my pages. The Quick Title Tool makes it easy to line up horizontal or vertical StickEase alphabet titles if you don't want to just have them be computer text. Gosh I just love this tool - and I hope you will too!

Looking back at Gabe - more Studio J!

This was my first Studio J layout, adorable pictures of Gabe that I'd still never scrapped. It was kind of nice to get some older pictures scrapped, and it hardly took anytime to figure out the tool and get the layout done. Plus since he just turned 4, it's nice to look back on how tiny he really was - it's amazing how fast they grow up!

Though I'm still a committed paper scrapbooker in my heart, I fully intend to use Studio J to catch up on older photos and fill my books...a good replacement for spending my evenings farming on Facebook when I'm too tired to get everything out for a project!

More May SOTM - my winning card!

This is my swap card from Ginni's last team meeting - I won the best card vote!

I dry embossed the "stripe" in the top of the card. I paper pieced the Thanks Card embellishment - love these little labels! Then I popped it up with 3-D foam tape. I love a nice dimensional element!

May SOTM - Cherish the Moment

I'm working on SOTM cards today - here's the May SOTM, which is a bunch of adorable little labels for celebrations, thank yous, etc...  I've got sanded Bamboo Textured CS for the background, and every edge is distressed then sanded to give a stronger white edge. I did a little faux pleated detail on the B&T Accent piece - using up the little 1 inch strips left over from cutting the card!

The paper I'm working with today is the Cherry-O Creative Basic pack - 2 patterns plus coordinating ribbon for $7.95 - a card maker's dream! I love the pretty Tulip Velvet ribbon included this time!

It's a Miracle!

I am loving the new Miracle kit! I got some amazing inspiration from a fellow consultant, Beckie Lehman, and adapted her cards into a workshop for us in May! Now you can use your Miracle kit to make the beautiful, interactive pages CTMH designed, or these 14 cards pictured below...or so much more. These papers are beautiful, and the kit prices can't be beat! CLICK HERE to check out all the kit details on my website!

April SOTM Card - adorable!

Hi, ladies! Taking a break from posting the Studio J layouts to share this adorable surprise that arrived in my mailbox this afternoon. My awesome CTMH upline and friend Ginni Candelaria stamped this April SOTM card for me for participating in a team challenge. Isn't it just the sweetest thing? I love the little dry embossed lines on the card front to give the house a clapboard texture. Thanks, Ginni - you brighten my day, too!!

15 pics on one page!

I'm loving this layout - fifteen pictures on one page! It was so fast and easy to throw together. I dropped my pics in over and over until I found the right balance for my eye - no worries about cropping pics incorrectly and wasting prints.

Plus...those of you who've seen me teach may not believe this next statement...this is NOT my favorite paper packet. Can you believe something CTMH made is not my favorite? But honestly, we aren't a really sporty family, so I never really got on board with this packet so much. It was nice to be able to use the packet without having a bunch of leftover paper (gasp - blasphemy!) that I would feel guilty about not using, and it fit the boys outfits perfectly! Loving the Studio J - faster, simpler, easier indeed!

Do you really have to scrap every photo?

Ok...don't get me wrong...I love all my pictures of the boys. But sometimes I come home from an event all fired up to scrap it...and sometimes I leave the pics in my file for a long time until I can get around to them. Gabe's Valentine's party sat in the file forever because the pics just weren't that great. He wasn't a willing photo subject that day, since most of the party was spent clinging to my leg or looking on quietly at all the hubbub. He certainly had his stinkeye face on that day!

Sitting there with Studio J, I realized that I can whip out quick, simple, cute pages for photos I don't really care about scrapping (gasp!) with minimal effort! I want to spend lots of time scrapping our trip to Day Out with Thomas. I want to spend forever paper piecing owls for adorable baby pics of my boys. I just want to get pics like these done and in the book so I can move on to the "fun" scrapping! Maybe I actually CAN catch up on my back-scrappin'!

Baby Max in ten minutes - BAM! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Here's a Studio J layout I made of some pics we had done of Baby Max when he was about a month old. We had these digitally on CD, so it was super easy to pop them into the layout instead of making super expensive prints to scrap - woo hoo! I finished this layout in about 10 minutes. Finally, beautiful scrapping even a crazy busy mom can get done in no time flat!

Digital FUN at the office!

I took these pics a couple years ago while waiting at John's office to go to dinner on a weekend. What is a scrapbooker to do but set up a totally awesome page? Gabe made copies, took some calls, studied for his electrical exam, had a coffee break, and did some CAD drawing on his magnadoodle, lol.

Gabe had fun posing for the pics, but not as much fun as I had scrapping them! I have always loved this particular layout but the diagonal pics are a pain to crop correctly. The embellishment in the upper left corner is a grouping of StickEase and "metal" embellishments - so asy to compose digitally. No need to plan it out carefully - if I didn't like where the StickEase landed, I could just scoot it over without having to peel it up or worry about tearing the paper!

In Studio J, I just dropped the pic into the photo well and grabbed it with my little digital hand to pull it to the area I wanted to show. So simple, and I could even zoom in or out if I needed to with the click of a button. Woo hoo!

Halloween scrapping and beyond!

OK - every day might be too ambitious...but I'm trying! New catalogs arrived unexpectedly - am drooling over the new papers, and can't WAIT for my order to arrive so I can get scrapping!! Let me just say that the new catalog is delicious!!

Here's three sets of pages from my foray into digital scrapbooking using Studio J. IT's an adorable Halloween kit! We haven't had a Halloween scrap kit in ages, so I'm super happy that there was a Halloween themed scrap kit in the digital studio. I did two years worth of trick or treat pics, plus a layout with pics of Gabe and no Halloween connotation - but the colors were just too perfect!

One of the awesome things about scrapping digitally is that you can use as much as you want of any one pattern. I have an affinity for the argyle print in this kit...but I couldn't have done these 4 Halloween pages with one paper packet unless I used a different pattern. And as much as I LOVE to collect paper, I don't want an extra packet of Halloween themed paper hanging around so I can get one more sheet of argyle. Now I don't have to pick and choose - I can use as much of a single paper as I want, no problem! Woo hoo!

I'm back, and I'm LOVING Studio J digital studio scrapbooking!

Hi! It's been a while, but I'm back and ready to scrap again. Baby Max is 3 months old - my, how the time flies! I have a few paper scrap pages to share next week, but for now I want to share what I've been doing digitally, in CTMH's new awesome Studio J!

I did 10 two page layouts in one four hour period - and with a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and a 3 month old baby, you know I wasn't working uninterrupted! It's an amazing new tool, and CTMH will be releasing it to the public soon.

I am loving how easy it was to make the layouts, and I can't wait to get my package of layoutss in the mail, with all my pictures already on the pages. No more paying for expensive enlargements just because I might need them! Now I can Studio scrap my big pictures, or even use the tool to "pre-scrap" y pages before ordering prints, cutting down on waste and giving myself piece of mind that the products I'll be ordering are what I really want!

Here's the first of my ten layouts to share. I had these pictures taken of Gabe and Ben in their monkey suits. To make this page in paper scrapping, I'd have printed 5 sets of wallets for the small pictures (leaving me with 3 extra wallets of the boys in halloween costumes), plus two 8x10 prints to get the larger pictures. The cost of prints alone would pay for the layout in Studio J - AMAZING! Check back later for more adorable Studio J layouts - I'm going to try to post one a day. Happy scrapping!
