December SOTM Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring December's SOTM called  Amore, a set of 13 elegant stamps.

If you have come here from Melissa's Blog, you are on the right path! If this is your first stop, you may want to go back to Helen's Blog and start from the beginning!

This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

There's been a lot of beautiful pink/red, valentine's type artwork around for this set - it's so pretty and elegant! But I'm just not really a Valentine's kind of stamper. I go for the lollipop toppers with Animal faces on them, not the fancy, romantic, gushy cards. I like to look at them, but it's just not my stamping cup of tea, ya know? So what am I gonna do with these 13 beautiful stamps?

I know! I'll turn to my old friend, Autumn Garden color palette. I swear, my favorite color is purple, but Sunflower and Goldrush are some of my go-to colors. Anyhow, I stamped that lovely loopy border onto Desert Sand cardstock, then used my awesome Corner Rounder to create big scalloped borders. I made a little waistband of that Hound's tooth print from the Splendor Packet, and buttoned it up on the side with some craft buttons. I stamped a couple of hearts in the Goldrush and detailed them with our Glitter Glitz - love that stuff! I framed up the top with some Goldrush cardstock, adding a bit of Goldrush ink speckle to the inner frame, and that beautiful LOVE sentiment. Then I added a rolled paper flower, which I hand cut, then rolled on my piercing tool and glued the heck out of with Liquid Glass. Once it was almost dry I smashed it with an acrylic block and painted it with more Glitter Glitz. While I love paper flowers, this one was a very THICK flower technique, so this is a hand-delivery type card for sure!

Now "Hop" on over to Tamytha's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Mix N Mingle Display

I am so excited for this project! I've been promising the girls to finish the project for a motnh now, but it kept falling to the bottom of my long list of things to do. When I finally sat down to complete it, it went together so easily! I had to give it lots of compliments while I was gluing it together, lol...

I used Olivia papers on the Fall side and Cocoa Cafe (yes, I've still got a significant stash of that gorgeous paper) on the Holiday side. I used cricut for the letters, since our beautiful chipboard letters are sold out (sad!). Can't wait to share this project at the Black Friday crop on the 26th!

Gabe's Family Quilt Square

Gabe's class is doing a paper quilt project. We, of course, waited until the last minute to whip his project out. Gabe wanted pictures of himself with each family member. I pasted it all together after he was in bed, but we talked out the project before I did the homework. We added silver glitter glue - that boy just loves glitter. He probably thinks I held back too much on the sparkle, lol. I used the striped paper from Hooligans for a bit of extra color, and cut his name out of the Hooligans Level 1 StickEase. When he saw our completed project, his first comment? "That's me with Thomas!!"

Going to Leadershare!

I'm so excited to head off to Seattle tomorrow morning for CTMH Leadershare! I'm packing and checking my lists now, because we're hitting the road at 4 am...to early to even get a yummy Peppermint Mocha at Starbucks before going. Thank goodness for Pepsi Max!

Anyhow, here's my swap card for the event tomorrow. The challenge was to make a project using only Cardstock, no special cutting or embossing systems, and nothing from the humongous retired list. CTMH must be getting ready to repackage everything, because that retired list includes all the brads, buttons, almost all the ribbons...gosh, I was getting nervous I wouldn't be able to embellish at all!

I used Grey Wool, Sorbet, Sweet Leaf, and Crystal Blue for my color pallette. The Grey CS is debossed with an embossing stylus and sanded. The Sorbet CS striped piece was hand pieced with 1/4" CS strips and debossed between the CS strips. Then I sanded the strip, stamped a scalloped border on the back using D1366 Cupcake Sprinkes, and hand punched the holes in the scallops using my Soft Set Eyelet tool. Whoooo - a bunch of work, but so pretty!

The snowflakes came from C1378 Heartfelt Christmas and D1384 Snow Flurries. I popped up the center of the large snowflake and embellished with our adorable stick on Pearls. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result - cross your fingers for me!
