August SOTM Blog Hop!

Welcome to our CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring August's SOTM called Wicked, which is a sassy set of 9 stamps. I am in LOVE with the adorable little cat, and you'll find 2 additional posts from earlier this week with more Wicked art in them!

If you have come here from TERRIE'S BLOG you are on the right path. If you get lost, you may want to go back to Helen's Blog to find the entire list of blog hoppers! This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing wonderful artistic creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

When I am planning my blog hop cards, I usually make a goal to use ONLY the SOTM...but this time I just couldn't help it! I looked at the witch's fabulous striped stockings and all I could think was Wizard of Oz. So I broke down and got out D1377 Around the Block and off I went!
I stamped and embossed the house in different pieces on Colonial White Cardstock. Then I used my watercolor pencils and blending pen to fill in the outlines and fuzzy cut out each piece. I filled the windows with two layers of liquid glass for more dimension, and used my Creme Brulee marker to add a few more shadows.
For my Witch legs I added the new Red Glitter Glitz - so sparkly! I like the bottles on our Glitter Glitz better than a certain other sparkly crafting glitter gel - see how it's oblong? Easier to hold, easier to control when doing fine point work...and when it gets low I've been able to pop the tip off a half used bottle and squeeze the rest of another half used bottle into each other and get every little bit out! What...you don't have 4 bottle of glitz gel going at any time?

I added a stamped graduated background using that adorable honeycomb pattern from Wicked. I started at the top going full strength, first generation ink and gradually started stamping off towards the bottom. I could use this background stamp on SO many projects...as you probably saw on my two other cards from this week.

One final product note - se my adorable sentiment sign? That's stamped in a combo of a sentiment flourish from Wicked and the actual sentiment from Around the Block...and held up with one of my FAVORITE new things! I know, it's not sparkly, but I am so happy about the new Pin Clips! It's a pin...with a little circular clip at the top so you can pop out sentiments or little birds and butterflies...adorable! It's going to be a new go to basic for me. Once again CTMH has given me something that I love so much and didn't even know I needed!

Now "Hop" on over to SUSAN'S BLOG to see what adorable thing she's conjured up! Be sure to visit all the Consultants in the hop to get some great crafty ideas for more fun projects! Remember, the August SOTM is only available until the last day of the month. Be sure to ask your CTMH Consultant how to get yours for just $5 (or click here). and grab your copy of the new Catalog ASAP - it's the BEST one ever!

Mojo Monday 201

I'm a little late this week with hopping into the Mojo Sketch, but I had the NEW Felt Pockets sitting on my tabletop, and I knew that they would be great for this cute Mojo Sketch with the multiple tags! I stamped the Desert Sand Background repeatedly with a little snowflake border from the NEW October Stamp of the Month (sneak peek!), then sanded it with heavy grit side of my sanding block. I used the pieced stocking from that set along with my newly beloved bottle of Red Glitter Glitz to make my second "Tag", and the circle tag contents came from that set as well. The whole felt joy pocket is one piece that came as is, right down to the cute blue slide out tag inside. Happy Christmas in July!

Sneak Peek: More August SOTM

I think my favorite image from the August SOTM is the little honeycomb background. It's pretty easy (with clear acrylix stamps!) to line it up to make backgrounds, and fresher than the polka dots I was in love with!

I whipped out a simple, not even 5 minute card here based on a card I saw in Paper craft magazine. I masked the bottom of the card with a post-it and stamped on my honeycombs in Creme Brulee Ink. Then I added the swirly twirly border stamp in Crystal Blue ink. Added a sentiment in Black and a trio of Bitty Sparkles to my border...and here's a super quick congratulations note card, or even a little woo hoo to tuck into a lunch box.

Don't forget to check out the SOTM blog hop coming August 1st!

Sneak Peek: August Stamp Of The Month!

Just wanted to share this simple, quick card we made for my Monday Motivations team meeting this week. The August SOTM is a spooky set of Halloween stamps, with a cute black cat and a sassy witch image. I wanted to make something not too Halloween with it, especially with that cute cat!

I inked the octagon background using a rolling technique to get the multiple colors and stamped it repeatedly down one side of the card front. Is tarted with the lightest color and worked my way up the colors to the darkest shade. I embossed the cat and sentiment in black ink covered with clear embossing powder for a bit of shine and dimension. Finally I added a couple bitty sparkles to the sentiment. Meow!

Check back here on Monday for the August SOTM blog hop and 60+ more ideas for this adorable stamp set!

I love Cardstock! How 'bout you?

One of the big announcements at Convention this year was some changes as to how we'll be stocking CTMH's beautiful white core cardstock. If you haven't tried it yet, you should, paper crafters! It's such a great paper for crafting - the white core makes it easy to embellish or distress and it's great quality available at a great price!

While we'll still have access to lots of great quality cardstock, if you LOVE the 24 packs of ONE COLOR, most colors are going, going, gone come August 1st. I recommend buying your favorites ASAP, even though some colors will still be available in packs of 24, as prices will be going up a bit to $14.50 per pack. So, if you love New England Ivy for Christmas, buy it now. Cranberry & Olive will still be available but at the higher price (as well as most basics like browns and black).

How will you be able to buy the colors in the new book? There will be combo packs with 12 colors per pack, 2 of each color (24 sheets total) for $14.95 and *new* 8 ½ x 11 combos will be $11.95.

They will also have Shade Packs which consists of 3 colors/4 sheets per color (12 sheets total) for $7.95.
The following colors (plus many others) will be discontinued in 24 pack of one color and right now are available for $9.50 per pack while supplies last until the end of July. However, the colors I have listed below ARE NOT in any Shade Packs.

Parchment
  • Taffy
  • Sunkiss Yellow
  • Sunny Yellow
  • Lilac Mist
  • Amethyst
  • Holiday Red
  • Sunflower
  • Goldrush
  • Moonstruck (Who doesn't loves this color? I especially love it paired with a purple.)
  • Sorbet
  • Spring Iris
  • Pansy Purple
Colonial White & White Daisy as well as KRAFT will continue to be sold in 24 packs for only $9.50 or about 40 cents a sheet! Hooray!

Feel free to contact me if you need more details or to place your order before the 24 sheet bulk packs are just a memory!

Back from Convention!

Oh my gracious! I am currently ensconced in the California Pizza Kitchen at Sacramento Airport marvelling at how FAST the interent is here compared to at our fabulous room at the DisneyLand Hotel. I had such an amazing time at CTMH Convention, hanging out with my team of wonderful ladies and filling my head to overflowing with new products, techniques, and projects to share! If you've friended me on Facebook, you may have been following our fun, from Mickey Shaped rice Krispie treats and Brand new BLING to inspiring speakers and consultants tied to the bed from too much excitement (and 5 hour energy drinks...you know who you are!). It was, as ever, an event to remember forever.

I'll be adding more pictures and artwork to this blog soon - so much to share, I can't even tell you! But for now, here's a fabulous little video about one of the biggest announcements - a brand new exclusive CTMH Cricut cartridge! It come with 3 coordinating stamp sets and works with many of our other stamps sets, plus it makes the most beautiful 3-D items - woo hoo! It's is like a multipack of cartridges in one tiny package, Cricut as only CTMH can do it. Enjoy, and check back here daily for more art and projects this week!   SHOW ME THE CRICUT!

And a big shout-out THANK YOU to my team! You ladies made this trip such a hilariously good time! See you soon for Monday Motivations - Monday the 25th!
