Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring December's SOTM, which is called Special Care, a sweet set of 6 tags.  If you have come here from LORI'S BLOG, you are on the right path!

This month we have 50+ Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM (and other great CTMH products) on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! If you get lost you can find the list of all the hoppers HERE. Let's go!

This month I used a sketch from Retro Sketches and the ColourQ Challenge color combo to create this quick card. I cut the ticket shapes using the Art Philosophy cartridge. It's SO awesome to have cricut shapes to fit your stamps! I stamped the SOTM image in Lagoon, Pear, and Sunset Inks. Then I stamped the second label in Cocoa ink and trimmed it by hand because I wanted it super close. The Cocoa CS background is stamped with another label image, then sanded heavily.
I used a glitter nailpolish by Nicole for OPI called Pick of the Glitter to paint the edges of my stamped labels and the Um Wow teensy laser cut stars I used to embellish my card. I wouldn't use it on a scrapbook page, but it was just the right colors for this card project! Dabs of Almond glitter glitz finished off the labels...which I'm currently hoarding and ordering more as my beloved glitter glitz gel is on the RETIRED LIST. Sob!

Now "Hop" on over to MICHELLE'S BLOG to see her TWEET work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants Blogs to soak in the great crafting and SOTM ideas! Remember, this SOTM will be gone at the end of December!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set for just $5!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dawn from http://www.appleblossomphoto.com/ took these pics for us - she's a genius!
Today I'm thankful for my family full of crazy, sweet little boys. We'll be enjoying a simple, mostly paleo Thanksgiving dinner of roasted chicken, mashed root veggies with onion GF gravy, and homemade cranberry sauce. We will bake individual pumpkin pie tarts with a GF gingersnap crust. Hopefully the boys will play together without fighting (too much) and enjoy a whole day with family. I won't be online or social media, so I can focus this day on making memories with these munchkins. I hope you are having a wonderful holiday, too.

Holly Jolly Christmas Card

One of my favorite bloggers is Chupa over at Random Acts of Creativity. She hosts the Sketchbook Saturday challenge, which inspired my card today. I found some DCWV glitter card bases for four bucks the other day, so when I saw the Dynamic Duos Triple Threat color combo I knew just what I needed to do. I grabbed the green cards from the set and my Sparkle and Shine papers and got right to work!
I stamped stitches onto the glitter paper for the stripes indicated in the sketch. I did a set in White Daisy, then another set over top in Memento Black (which is my favorite black ink pad). I did some fancy inking of my sentiment to get the multi color fade. First I inked the whole stamp in Blush ink. Then using the straight edge of the pad I added the Cranberry ink to the top. Finally I rolled the top and bottom lines in Memento Black before I stamped onto my label. Since the label was from Art Philosophy, I easily cut the matching Blush frame for the label, then inked the inner edge of the Blush frame with my silver marker before adhering it over the stamped base label. I topped my label off with some Martha Stewart holly gems I've been hoarding for, well, years.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I'll be hanging with my littles and enjoying the day. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Picture My Life

I've been flirting with a few lines of products made for Project life type scrapping, so these pics of the upcoming Picture My Life line from Close To My Heart make me so happy!
Besides scrapbooking, I can see some totally adorable cards and mini album projects coming on...
A bit of glitter, some sparkles...PML you have my heart!
If I could have a super power it would be....teleportation, so I could put myself into the CTMH warehouse and gawk at the new goodies right now! Or reading minds so I could sneak a peek into Kristine or Monica's brain and find out what's coming. I know...impatience may be my middle name.
The Joy is in the journey....or in the scrapbooking of the journey?
This line is definitely Be-YOU-tiful...I feel like I'm trapped in an old Mervyn's commercial...OpenOpenOpen!! Are you as excited to get your inky paws on these goodies as I am?

DIY Glitter Mason Jars

Some of you have been asking me where I got the glittery mason jars from my craft fair display. I made them, and it was so easy! I grabbed a few jars from my canning stash, some Glossy Mod Podge, and a jar of Silver Kid Glitter.  put a coat of Mod Podge on the bottom half of my mason jar and liberally poured on the glitter. After that layer dried (because I wanted a kind of glitter ombre), I added another coat of Mod Podge, this time all the way up to the neck and sprinkled on more glitter, getting lighter on the top half. I added one more layer of Mod Podge after that dried, over everything to seal in the sparkles. Custom sparkle mason jars for WAY less than I almost spent of cute silvered glass display jars...one more reason to love glitter!

Check out the holiday fun!

Ruffle my Feathers

This week Stasha over at Northwest Mommy asked for a list of top ten irritating things. I could probably write a bazillion about things little boys do that drive me crazy...but since I love them so, instead I'm gonna count my blessings and do a listicle on Crafty things that make me make a sad face.

Top Ten Crafty Things that Ruffle my Feathers
See what I did there? Crafty puns totally make me giggle. Sorry if that distresses you!

1. When you click on a Pinterest Pin that goes...nowhere. Seriously, folks, pin from the actual blog post!
2. When you finish a complicated scrapbook title page treatment (diecuts, glitter, distressing, layers...you know, the usual!) only to figure out that you've spelled it wrong. Like that Forth of July layout when I was preggo, right clubbers?

3. When I hear repeatedly at a craft fair that my prices are amazingly low and my crafts are totally awesome...but not selling enough to pay for my babysitting bill.

4. When you peel the backing off red line or foam tape, and then can't get the backing to get off your fingers. Sometimes that static is clingier than the adhesive!

5. When you drop a stamp/sparkle/sticker and cannot find it anywhere...until you ask your stamp buddies to help and then it's suddenly right in front of you.

6. When my sweet hubby reads over my shoulder while I'm typing to you, dear stamping friends...and corrects my spelling or grammar. Ahem.

7. When I finish a card and flip it over to stamp on my signature on the back...only to find that I've glued the card front on upside down.
When in doubt, add glitter!
8. When you meet people who hate glitter. I eat glitter for breakfast, lunch, and tea. I cannot relate.

9. When you find an awesome craft blog, and they don't have a Follow by Email feature. I LOVE to Follow by Email. Every morning my email is happily filled with amazing projects and fabulous blog posts...and if your blog won't let me follow by email...well, then I'm not following at all. Sad.
10. When I'm in the middle of creating and I have to stop abruptly to go, you know, participate in my real life. It's hard to shift gears quickly, once you've gotten into the groove. There's just not enough time in the day for everything I want to craft! That is not to say I don't love every bit of caring for these three little monkeys. I just needed to finish applying that last coat of glitter!

Artbooking Made Easy

You may have noticed that I love my Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I did a month of Artbooking cartridge projects back in July, and now I use this cartridge pretty much every week. It's just so versatile and different than other cricut cartridges with the overlays and pre-planned layouts.

Check out this fabulous video from CTMH to see two adorable Artbooking layouts and why I love this cartridge so much!

Black Friday Jamberry and Giveaway!

I'm not normally a Black Friday Shopper. The last time I went out Black Friday shopping I went to Target for a gift for my then 2 year old son. I hung out in the far back of the parking lot until the mad rush of people had entered the store, then I ran straight back to...toys, where no one was shopping for half off toy trains oddly enough. I grabbed my Thomas the Tank Engine treasure and made a beeline straight to the checkout. I was in and out in ten minutes. The time before that I was very pregnant with the same child, and obsessed with adding rhinestones to the announcement holiday cards I was crafting so I stood in line at Joanns F-O-R-E-V-E-R...to buy five packets of bitty glue on rhinestones (this was pre-self adhesive sparkle days). Pregnancy induced insanity. Still shaking my head.

Normally on Black Friday I hole up in my stamp room with a bunch of Stampin' Friends and we crop the day away. This year I'll be missing my girlies while making some fun family memories instead - but I am planning to sneak a teensy bit of time to head over to Jamberry and stock up on some of these exclusive Black Friday only designs. Those Navy Blue Winter Morning florals are practically screaming my name! Best of all they count towards the buy 3 get one free special, which makes Jams a totally affordable holiday splurge. Oh my Icy Polkas!

While I'm there I might just have to sneak a peek at the Holiday gift sets, with four coordinating shields...I pulled this from Instagram...all my fav bold and graphic black and whites plus GLITTER in the Monochromania set? Or that sheet of pretty soft sparkly metallics in the Bella Romantica set? I don't know how I'll choose. I do love that I can decide from the comfort of my home!

To share the Jamberry love, anyone ordering in the month of November will be automatically entered into a drawing for a free sheet of Jams...yes, even you lovely ladies who already ordered this month. Good luck, brave shoppers. I'll have another slice of pie for you!

Happy Owlidays Sneek Peek

Oh my gosh I love this little owl so much! Isn't he just adorable in his little Santa Hat? I glittered up his sweet hat and also his little tummy feathers. I made a bunch of these, and just realized that I took photos of one that is missing his little wiggly eyes. I'd redo the pics for ya, but it's getting late so you'll have to imagine the wiggly eyes until I can update this photo. Le sigh...
I used my favorite new Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, called Charles. It's a dotty chevron pattern (with a matching border), and then I sanded the CS to bring out the embossed pattern. I'm linking this card to the Cards Galore Animal Challenge, and the Festive Friday Color Challenge

Merry and Bright Mojo Stamp A Stack Sneak Peek

Good morning, Stampin' Friends! Today I'm sharing this super quick Holiday card based on the  new Mojo Monday Sketch. I did widen the proportion of the striped background - I just wanted more stripe! I was inspired by Card Maker magazines Easy as 3-2-1 challenge. 3 papers (Stripe B&T, Red and Black CS), 2 embellies (buttons and itty bitty Star Shape Rhinestone Gems), and 1 focal image (I love, love, love that big fat sentiment!). This card was fast and easy!
Here you can see that I did embellish the focal sentiment with a few dots of Silver Pen. How cute are those tiny stars? They are really nail gems, but so cute for crafts! Just one more design to share this week for Stamp a Stack - see ya tomorrow!
