So Thankful Card

Today I am so thankful to share with you that I've been chosen as an AdornIt It Girl. I've been buying adorable clothes from AdornIT for years, and now I got a big box of AdornIt swag to create with and share with y'all. I get to do this for three whole months, and I'm so excited to get started.
Today I'm working with the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I combined a watercolor panel from an AdornIT Art Play Coloring Book with Sugar Rush sprinkle paper. That sprinkle is my favorite page in that whole sweet line. I added a sentiment to the bottom using the Sugar Rush cardmaking set.
I colored the panel with watercolor pencils and blended everything with a fine tipped water brush. Then when the panel was dry I stamped over the painting with hearts using Blossom ink (and black for her t-short heart). Finally I blended a bit more using my clear shimmer brush to soften and add sparkle. You can check out all the AdornIt goodies in my Swag Box on my Unboxing Flipagram

Now I'm thankful to be off to Seattle for the CTMH Expressions launch this weekend. Happy stamping, Stampin' Friends!

Thinking of You Fox Card

I've been crafting like crazy lately, but nothing that I'm able to share on my blog...yet! I hope to be able to share more with all y'all soon. There's a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge up, so I took a break from my other crafting activities to make this sweet fox card using Some Kind of Wonderful.
That cool pink paper came from Hello Lovely. I sanded some Desert Sand cardstock for the center of the card. Then I stamped the 3/8" white cardstock strips using Whisper and Sorbet Ink. I gave the fox a sweet balloon using Happy for You. It's such a simple set of balloons, but it's so much fun.
I did some simple paper piecing on the fox image with Hello Lovely pink dot paper and white cardstock. I scattered a few more Sorbet heart images around the fox along with some adorably tiny copper mini sequins. I love that the fox has a matching Thin Cuts die (on sale this month), since I'm making a bunch of him for this weekend!

Your Love is like a Cup of Tea

One of my favorite parts of this month's Stamp of the Month is the adorable sentiments.
That's why I decided to fill two parts of this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch with this sweet two part sentiment. Drawing my colors from the Dreamin' Big papers as suggested in this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge, I filled the Slate cardstock background with the teabag label image using Whisper ink. I used Slate and Poppy inks to stamp the sentiments and cups.
There are only three teacups in the image, so I used a post-it to mask off the top cup so I could stack those teacups higher! I filled in a few details with Poppy and Goldrush inks using my trusty waterbrush, and then I went over those details with a gold shimmer brush. I like this one because the gold shimmer is suspended in a clear medium instead of yellow tinted. I'm making a bunch of these for my team swap next weekend. I hope you'll pop over to Atlantic Hearts and play along with us this week!

You are Tea-riffic Card

I painted the watercolor background for this card at the beginning of last week...and I'm sharing it with you on Sunday because I couldn't quite get this card finished all week long.
I was inspired to make the watercolor panel by the Muse Card Club challenge. Although I loved that soft blue background in the inspiration card, I knew I wanted my first March SOTM teacup card to be in pink. I embossed the flower images all over the background in clear embossing powder over Colonial White cardstock. Then I painted on pink using watercolor pencils and a waterbrush.
After the paint was dry I burnished the embossing with a tissue to bring the clear/white lines back up. I stamped the teacup at the bottom in Blush ink and overstamped that with the sentiment in black. I finished off the card with a bit of Sugar Rush paper, pink organdy ribbon, and a few sparkly gems. With my house full of boys, sometimes it nice to make something so unabashedly girlie!
