This week over at Practical Scrappers the team is working on Ten Things to do with that oldie but goodie, eyelets! Do you remember the first time you saw eyelets? I was at a scrapbooking expo and when you entered the vendor hall EVERYONE was hammering. It was SO loud, echoing through the hall, and I stood in line to try out this awesome new embellie...and left with my first hammer and tool kit. Weren't those hammers just the cutest thing? Everything I made for a while had eyelets on it. I had four different eyelet setting tool kits, each one better, easier, quieter than the last. Do you remember being the gal at a crop setting eyelets when everyone is quietly giggling and eating chocolate working? Then I moved on to brads and embellished brads and stick on sparkles...and my poor eyelets just languished away. Sad. Lonely. Forgotten. Ok, maybe a brief shining moment on top again when I got my Crop-A-Dile Eyelet
, since it is the best eyelet setting tool I've ever tried (and I've tried A LOT, so quick, easy, and quiet), but overall just hanging out in the stamp room. Poor eyelets! I won't neglect you further!
So I was thrilled with the new Practical Scrappers topic. I decided to combine some of my newest embellies with my eyelets stash. I love how the standard sized eyelets are perfect for matting sparkles or enamel dots. If you have the larger eyelets then you can "double mat" them too! I did have the larger eyelets but the movers were headed up the stairs soon so I had to work fast. Lord knows what they thought when the home owner disappeared upstairs shortly after they started packing and started to machine sew something, lol. I had to dig through my stash container of odds and ends because I didn't want to mess up all the careful sorting we'd done for the movers. I used the sketch from Freshly Made for my quick eyelet creation.
And in honor of Eyelets, I'm giving away some sampler packs form my own eyelet stash! I've got three packs (plus a cute handmade card) to give away. Sign up below and let's crush it!
