Day 160: It's Your Day Card

I was excited to see the new Viva la Verve Sketch today - how cute is that? I had to make a card with it right away.
I used lots of scrap pieces from my Simple Stories I Am pad. I love the colors in this line!
Then I added a few stickers (Today is your day and You totally rock) from the Wildwood Assortment left over from my Wanderful pages. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Thanks for the fab sketch, Verve!

Day 159: Fabulous Day Rainbow Card

Today I got the bright idea to take the boys hiking over along the Spokane River. We spent a lot of time climbing on the rocks down by the river's edge, with tiny rainbows sparkling here and there among the rapids.
When I sat down to make a project this evening I saw the new CAS(E) this Sketch and immediately thought rainbow. So I stamped my fav little heart from Doodled Designs in Cranberry, Sunset, Canary, Topiary, and Pacifica.
I added the fabulous sentiment from Happy Everything. Then I stamped it again on scrap cardstock and cut out the fabulous word, turned it into a banner, and ran my glitter gel pen over the image. I popped it up with thin foam tape, then I added a ruled line with my journaling pen.

Day 158: Happy Birthday Elephant Card

So I've been staring at this awesome Photo Inspiration challenge at Just Us Girls and wanting to do something with it...but I couldn't decide what.
Then tonight I took a peek at this week's Mojo Monday sketch and something just clicked. I remembered this adorable Amy Tangerine elephant diecut I've been hoarding saving, and I was off to the races! I embossed a panel of White Daisy cardstock with the quatrefoil embossing folder. Then I colored in the raised areas using a waterbrush and Lagoon ink with lots of water.
I added a snip of Scaredy Cat B&T paper. I'm going to miss this versatile paper packet when it goes Buh-bye at the end of August (or sooner if it sells out). I stamped the main front panel with pieces from Happy Everything (the Operation Smile set that sends $3 to help change the life of a child!) and Doodled Designs. Then I added some journaling pen stitches before mounting the elephant die cut and cricut balloon. I did add some sewing thread for the balloon string - couldn't resist!
Hope this one brought a smile to your face too!
Got my Operation Smile shirt today too - can't wait to wear it out and about tomorrow!

Day 157: Wanderful Scrapbooking Workshop

Golly, with all the cardmaking, secret presentations stuff, and card kit production over the last months I got really behind on my scrapbooking. Tonight I finished up and photographed the Wanderful pages for you Monthly Memories scrappers - finally! In an effort to get them done quickly, I only printed the pics for these two pages here - I love these papers with Black and white pics!
I created a CDS cut file for the title I designed here...and yes, I've been humming some Frank all night long. I'm linking this up to the Travel challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges, Life is a Highway.
This page will have some pics from when John and I were much, much younger. It would also be great for graduation pics.
And this one is going to have some random pics from all our different homes over 14 years in Portland. I did a combo of marker work and pierced marker work for the faux stitching details.

If you've ordered your Wanderful kit, the instructions are getting emailed tonight! If you want to make these pages, the order list is below. Just pop out to my shopping website and place your order. Your full color step by step instructions with cutting guides will arrive in your email inbox promptly!

Day 156: Hello AHSC Card

Apparently I'm on a black and white kick now.
I sat down to make my card for the new Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, when I noticed the scraps from yesterday's PML card I cut up were just about the right size for this sketch. And I had a scrap of Chevron Paper Fundamentals that was the right size too. When I looked and found a vellum scrap that was just 1/4" inch off I gave into the crafting fates and made another all Black and White card.
I wanted a smaller font than the Happy Everything set I've been enjoying so much this week, so I grabbed D1634 Rain or Shine for my hello sentiment. I stamped the scalloped circle tag from Best Christmas, then colored in the center with a black marker before mounting an oversized silver glitter brad in the center.  I added a few white acrylic stars to finish off the card.
I hope you'll hop over to Atlantic Hearts to play along with this week's sketch!

Day 155: This Made My Day Card

I needed a super quick and easy card today, because I am really just feeling under the weather. I managed to power through tuxedo shoe shopping and grocery shopping and very soon I'm going to tuck myself into bed for the evening and sleep...well, until my boys get up at 5 am!
Max and I went out and procured him a shiny new pair of tuxedo shoes this morning, and he is happy as a clam again. He charmed the shoe salesgirl with his enthusiasm for what might be the least popular footwear in the the children's department, wearing them right out of the store after abandoning his Ninja Turtle Crocs in the middle of the store. Before we found Max's happy feet, though, we hit up my favorite coffee shop, Atticus.  So I think I had coffee on the brain when I went to whip up this simple card. I'm linking this one up to the Friday Mashup Let's Eat Challenge.
Now I got to work with the new Picture My Life Designs for my Convention Presentation, and I absolutely love the new cards coming this fall...but the For Always cards are my favorite of the retiring designs. I bought an extra package to be sure my pocket scrapbooking stash won't run low on these for a long while. The black, white, cream, and bamboo color palette is so elegant and works for so many things. I cut the mug out of a card, and the sentiment off another. Then I stamped the background with OH MY HAPPY from Happy Everything, the Operation Smile stamp set I've been obsessing over this week. This card took me less than 5 minutes, and that seriously just made my day!

If you missed it, you can get the scoop on Operation Smile and these fabulous Make Someone Smile t-shirts HERE.

Day 154: Fabulous Day with Operation Smile

After making my watercolor balloon card yesterday I decided I wasn't done with that idea yet.
I saw the new Retro Sketches sketch and I knew I wanted a bold black and white stripe behind the softer watercolored balloons. I've been pondering the new photo over at Runway Inspired Challenge, so I made the balloons yellow and red.
I mentioned that this Happy Everything set is one of my favorites, and even better, $3 of the price of each set goes to support a truly amazing charity, Operation Smile. At our recent convention, CTMH consultants raised over $40,000 for Operation Smile through special Base & Bling necklaces, the 5K run/walk, and an amazing artwork auction. Each surgery costs $240 so we raised enough money for 166 surgeries just at that event. However, there are more children who need help.

CTMH is offering these adorable t-shirts to help raise even more money so we can continue to help even more children. The shirts are available in a wide range of sizes, and $10 of the $25 purchase price will go directly to help a child who needs this life saving surgery. I bought my shirt today, and you can get yours right here. I don't make a dime off the sale of these cute shirts...but every 24 shirts sold is one more surgery that will make a big difference in the life of a child. Check out more info on Operation Smile here, then join me in helping to Make Someone Smile!

Day 153: Happy Birthday Balloon Card

When I saw this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge I immediately thought of one of my favorite stamp sets, Happy Everything
I checked out the ColourQ blog for some color inspiration. I stamped the balloons in Glacier, Sorbet, Cranberry, and Canary inks. Then I loaded up my water brush and washed the balloons using the ink from the pads I stamped with, then splattered the excess around the card.
I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black, then added a dot detail around the edges of the card front with a fine tipped journaling pen. I'm linking this one up to the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge

Day 152: Scrapping Our Stash Hop

Welcome to the Scrapping Our Stash Blog hop, a monthly hop where we hit up our stash for unused scrapbooking treasure. You might be arriving here from AUDREY'S BLOG. Let's hop!
I looked to the Scrap Much? Sketchy Friday for some scrapping inspiration. I just got back from CTMH convention and I know now that this nice dark navy color is retiring, so I wanted to do something with Outdoor Denim, of which I have a substantial stash. I pulled some retired Ariana papers to go with my Outdoor Denim cardstock. I love that rich navy color, but I almost always need to sand it - I love how you can see the scratch marks so well against the blue color.
I found a package of  canvas stickers from an old scroll scrapbook kit I never made (the way it was designed anyhow). I pulled the orange Sorbet color from those and colored my canvas letter stickers with a marker to match. I filled in the title with some Keyboard Kraft alpha letters....I still have stash of those, since I bought like 10 packs when they went into the While Supplies Last area of my website long ago. A deal is a deal, right? See those smiling faces - the boys agree!
Next up on the hop is more scrapping goodness from CHARITY'S BLOG. A list of all the participating bloggers sharing their craftiness is below. Have fun hopping!

Day 151: Let It Snow card

I had stamped a circle with this sentiment a few days ago...but it didn't fit my card, so into the scrap bin it went. The sentiment is from the Be Jolly set, part of the $5 Hostess Reward stamp set special going on for just a few more days this month.
I saw the new "Off the Edge" challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenges, and I thought of that sentiment. Luckily I had a doily just the right size for my sentiment. I added a little Doodled Designs circle in second generation Thistle ink around the sentiment. I literally have had this stamp set sitting on my desk for months now. Why bother putting it away when I'm just gonna need it tomorrow? The blue dot paper is from Wanderful.
I colored in the hearts with a Peony Purple Shin Han marker and added touches of glitter gel pen to the leaves of the wreath. Then I stamped the tiny simple snowflake from Best Christmas around the card in blue ink overlaid with more glitter gel pen and topped with medium sparkles.
Come back tomorrow for the Scrapping Our Stash Hop and lots of scrapbooking eye candy!

Day 150: This is Awesome Card

Tonight I couldn't resist my Simple Stories I Am 6x6 pad.
I combined my paper pad with the new Mojo Monday Sketch. There were so many cute patterns in the pad, but I'm particularly enamored of this tiny robin's egg blue swiss dot.
I cut the hearts and sentiments out of the smaller cards in the pad. The circle is from Doodled Designs. I added in a few touches of shimmer gel pen to finish it off.

Day 149: Merry Christmas Card

I was cleaning off my desk (again) when I found Be Jolly, one of the Hostess stamp sets available for just $5 with this month's Jump On It July Promo. Instead of putting it away, I headed to the MUSE Christmas Visions blog for some holiday inspiration.
I used some last bits of Yuletide Carol paper, which is so elegant and detailed. The only stamp on the card is the sentiment from Be Jolly!
I did add a bit of shimmer pen to the MERRY in the sentiment, and a bitty sparkle to the bird's eye, colored black with an alcohol marker. A few gold sequins finished off my version of that cute MUSE card. A little Christmas in July, Stampin' Friends.

Day 148: Just Because Card

I've been working on some fun Zoe and August SOTM projects today, but since we aren't quiiiite allowed to share those yet, I took a little break to play with the new Retrosketches sketch
I combined cardstock, teal glitter paper, and a bit of the current Paper Fundamentals. I ws inspired by the Just Us Girls Color challenge. Starting in September the Fundamentals will be coming out in new patterns, which I'm excited about, but I know I'll miss some of these patterns. Good thing I'm all stocked up!
I added some baker's twine wrapped around the top of the card. Then I added some White Enamel stars that I colored black with an alcohol marker. Just because, lol.

Day 147: Sweet Koala Card

After getting back from our Disney adventure after Convention I was excited to clear off my table and get my fingers inky.
I saw the new sketch from CAS(E) this sketch and thought of that sweet Cute Koalas set with the koala climbing the tree. I embossed a White Daisy Panel with the Hearts folder. I mounted the embossed panel onto Desert Sand Cardstock. I stamped him onto a panel of White Daisy Cardstock using brown memento ink, then I colored him using Shin Han Markers and a Spectrum Blender. I added a touch of woodgrain washi tape and a quick bit of machine stitching.
You might be wondering where my posts are on what I made for my Convention presentation or what we made for create and take... and I am planning on sharing. However, CTMH has asked us not to share artwork using new products until the new idea book goes live September 1st. So you can take a peek at my Facebook or Instagram for the sneak peeks, and I'll be blogging my secret projects soon.
In the meantime, don't forget about this awesome Jump On It July special where you can get Hostess Rewards stamp sets that are usually only available for party hostesses for just $5!

Day 146: Disney Movie Quote shirts

In preparation for our Disneyland trip we watched a ton of Disney movies, everything from Cinderella to Wall-E, Planes to Bedknobs and Broomsticks. They were already in love with the Pixar movies such a Toy Story and Card. Some new favorites are Mary Poppins, Robin Hood, The Sword in the Stone, and  Beauty and the Beast. The cheering when Gaston fell from the castle....oh my. In any case, when we were discussing our favorites the boys were quoting their favorite movies and one more Cricut iron-on vinyl shirt project was born.
Ben's shirt was the first one done. He's been obsessed with Peter Pan for months now, and he even had a Peter Pan themed birthday party
Max hemmed and hawed, but in the end he chose Buzz Lightyear, which was the first idea he'd had anyhow. I had to hide the finished shirt from my little tuxedo clad munchkin. He was not happy about all the new glitter duds I wouldn't let him wear!
Gabe wanted a Tow Mater Quote that we all say all the time while walking backwards and being goofy. Of course, he's a backwards driver, so on the back of his shirt is:
Now, the boys and I hatched this plan, so I wasn't sure my engineer of a husband would be on board with the Teal Glitter Disney quote t-shirts. Of course, I should have remembered this is the same dude who wore a t-shirt I made featuring the hand-drawn head of Ernie throughout college. Of course he wanted a Disney Quote shirt! And this is the quote he chose:
