Hello Fall Card

So all those banners I combined in the Mojo Monday sketch? Found them in this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I used up some more of my (retired) Sangria Paper, combined with more Enchantment Fundamentals. I stitch outlined everything by hand with a black journaling pen, which is why I added the black washi tape and sentiment.
I wanted a little more shine, so I added some Rose Gold foil tape to play off the copper twine in the brown flower button. The leaves came from the SOTM, and that HELLO is my favorite thin cuts die
Only two more days until our first Crafty Card Buffet!

Gratitude Doily Card

So out of the entire Stamp of the Month set this month, I think this Gratitude sentiment image is my absolute favorite.
I combined some of the new Enchantment Fundamentals with some Sangria retired paper. I love how the patterns in the new fundamentals can support and extend whats already in my paper stash! I was working off the sweet new RetroSketches sketch.
I topped off the design with slate sequins topped with some rounded clear gems. I love the look of white doilies against bold colors!
Crafty Card Buffet kicks on on Sunday!

Thankful Beyond Measure card

So I am (as I'm sure many of you are as well) completely in LOVE with Betsy Veldman. Everything she makes is Amazing with a capital A, and if you haven't met her yet, go there now. I'll wait...and you're welcome.
So this week she did this card for Papertrey Ink Make it Monday and I about swooned. Immediately I knew I had to MAKE THE THING. So I grabbed my September SOTM and got inky. I started with the new Mojo Monday Sketch. I wanted to spray my background with Distress Spray in Antique Linen, so I extended that second panel to meet the first so my card base wouldn't curl up. I also extended the banner bits into a shiny copper twine wrap because shiny, And copper. I hope Mojo Monday will forgive me!
Instead of florals I used the big pumpkin image. You can imagine how inky my paws were after I finished the leaves and pumpkin inking.I added some touched on shimmer pen and glitter gel to the background stamping, but the real sparkle is that copper twine, which I scored at Target.
Don't forget my new Card Buffet is coming this Sunday! Hope to see you there!

Gratitude Autumn Leaves Card

Another Monday means another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!
I loved this week's sketch, and I was tempted to go floral, but then I realized I hadn't even busted open my Stamp of the Month yet. That just won't stand, so I went with autumn leaves and the Gratitude sentiment. I love the font combos on the sentiments in this set!
I decided to go with some of the Timberline woodgrain that I've been hoarding saving. I combine that with a bit of Jeepers Creepers, playing along with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. I stamped the leaves in Sunset ink, and sponged them with a combo of Sunset, Lagoon, and Slate. I topped off those sunset stamped berries with a bit of glitter gel, which photographed really yellow for some reason. Then I added some swipes of shimmer pen to the leaves and the background sprigs.

I hope you'll hop on over to Atlantic Hearts to play along with this week's fun sketch challenge!

Monthly Memories Club: Jeepers Creepers

I'm so excited for our next Monthly Memories Club! We are going to move away from the Halloween theme for all but one of the projects, but we are keeping all of the fun.
The next Monthly Memories Club meeting is going to be Friday, October 7th. The kits come with everything you need to complete three double page layouts and nine card fronts. You can complete these kits at home, at a crop, or if you are local you can come to our Monthly Club meeting where we we have fun creating our kits together.
I kept the intended Halloween theme for the first pages, using up those adorable monsters!
For the second set of pages I went in a ent-owl-ly different direction. The kit does not come with owls, but we will use kit items to make some super cute owls.
For the third set of pages we will get into this bold eyeball print. My amazing friend Amanda was the one who pointed out this paper would be awesome for eye doctor appointments, glasses, anything that makes your kid's eyes bug out, etc...

You can download the CTMH version on this kit HERE for free! Or you can place your kit order here and I will email you my full color instructions for these projects complete with cutting guides, lots of pictures, and step by step instructions. If you are local to me, your kit purchase scores you that invite to our monthly crop night, where we create our kits together. Dinner is included, just bring your kit and favorite adhesive to join in the fun!
I want to be sure to have enough space and dinner for all...

Hello Friend Fusion Card

Today I'm sharing my card from our team swap this last weekend. I gathered together some of my favorite new goodies for this one.
I used Slate cardstock as the base of my card, and stamped the top with some of the images from Season of Magic. I layered on some Pear cardstock, then a small doily, and then a black panel with the word HELLO diecut from the center. I let the doily peek through the diecut word for a fun effect.
I added a paper butterfly that I dyed with ink from my pad and a waterbrush. I embellished the butterfly body with sequins topped with black rhinestones. I added the "FRIEND" from a retired set called A Thousand Thanks, and some bits of Jeepers Creepers washi tape. Across the bottom I tucked a strip of the lined vellum from the Uptown Fundamentals, by cutting it half an inch taller than needed and gluing that strip under the Pear Cardstock to hide the adhesive.
I used both the sketch and the Photo Inspirations from Fusion Card Challenge to make this card.

Monthly Memories Calypso Cards

Friday night my Monthly Memories Scrapbooking club is finally getting together in person again. I'm so excited to be back in a functional studio space! We scrap, we have dinner, we laugh - it's just so much fun!
The scrappers have chosen either Magical or Calypso for their projects. It's too late to order those kits, but I wanted to share what we did with the Calypso card designs. If you've been hanging around here you've noticed I'm in LOVE with this True Love stamp set. The sentiment on this card came from me second favorite stamp set right now, Sweet Birthday
My Calypso kit gals will also be making some Flamingo cards, but instead of using the retried Flamingo stamp set we will be using the pre-printed PML cards that came with the Calypso kit.
Using the cards made these sweet handmade cards come together in a snap!
Here's a little sneak peek of our October Kit, Jeepers Creepers. I'll be posting all the details on the Monthly Memories Jeepers Creepers kit this weekend and how you can join in on the Monthly Memories fun!

Swan Lake With Love Card

As I sat down to make a new card for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I really wanted to make a bunch of new flowers and a fabulously lumpy 3-D card. Then I pondered mailing the card...
...aaaaand I decided for those flowers in the sketch I really needed to break out my new Swan Lake papers. and do some fussy cutting instead. There are so many cute florals tucked into this paper suite and I love the contrast of the brighter colors against the black backgrounds.
I added some stamped pieces from Season of Magic, which is probably supposed to be a Christmas stamp set, but hey, man, it's my card and I'll stamp what I want to. I love the sketchy look of the teensy florals and leaves in that set. I handcut the larger leaves from one of the Swan Lake patterns before tucking them under that big poppy sunflower. Then I topped the sunflower and most of the leaves with some Shimmer Pen action.  It picked up the lights funny in the pictures, but I just love a subtle shimmery... well, anything, really. Bring on the shimmer!

I hope you'll pop over to Atlantic Hearts and play along this week! I'm also linking up to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge National Stamping Month linky, celebrating all things stamp. #CREATEKINDNESS all month long!

Hello Cupcake Watercolor Card

Remember my Instagram posts about messing around with watercolors? And then what I did with those messy panels I was making? Here's a sweet finish to that project!
Working from the MUSE challenge this week, I took those cupcake toppers and built this card using the placement as a sketch and the watercolored heart as my inspirations. I used the new Jeepers Creepers papers because I wanted a cheerful birthday feel. I was so excited to get my new Thin Cuts Hello and Thanks set, so I broke that out and paired it with just the Cupcake word from Sweet Birthday.
I stamped the cuppie base onto White Daisy CS and gave it a quick color with a couple Shin Han markers before topping off the dots with some shimmer pen. I forgot to grab a picture but I added a #createkindness sentiment on the inside that says "You are SPECIAL to Me".  I think my favorite part are the little pink cuppie cheeks!

Kindness Changes Everything Card

This month CTMH has a sweet special card kit called Create Kindness to celebrate National Stamping Month. I love all 8 of the thoughtful stamp images, but this "Kindness changes everything" sentiment is my absolute favorite. Choosing kindness is something I talk about with my boys all the time, so you could say that this one is very close to my mommy heart.
I had painted some small panels of watercolor last week, just messing around with my waterbrush and some thick cream colored watercolor paper. Once that was dry I trimmed the panels to size and stamped over the watercolor with the balloon boy from True Love. I paper pieced the balloons with a bit of Oh Deer paper. Then I set those aside to ponder what to do with them. When I saw this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge, I knew they would be perfect!
I tore the bottom edge of a colonial white panel and inked the edges with black  ink. I added the watercolor panel to the top, and stamped the sentiment at the bottom in Black ink. I stamped it again onto a scrap of colonial White CS and trimmed out the "KINDNESS" word. I layered this over two banners with thin foam tape, overlapping the bottom of the watercolor panel. I added a scattering of gold star sequins and I painted the banners and balloons with shimmer pen.

You can see all the sweet stamps that are part of this Choose Kindness special here. I'm happy to share that the stamps are available as part of a kit or as individual images. You can use the hashtag #createkindness to follow along with the acts of kindness or post some kindness of your very own. Hugs to you, Stampin' Peeps!
