Scrapping Our Stash December Blog Hop

Welcome to another Scrapping Our Stash Blog hop. For December we chose an Anything Goes theme. You might be arriving here from LYNE'S BLOG. You can find a full list of hoppers at the bottom of this post!
A Christmas Story has long been a family favorite of ours, and Ben's love of chunky black glasses helps him bear a pretty good resemblance to Ralphie Parker. I don't know why, but this year he agreed to be Ralphie for Halloween. We thought we'd have to really work on him, but he loved the idea and agreed to give up his typical Star Wars costume for the low, low price of a small custom box of See's Candy. He loves wearing that costume much more than Ralphie did, and so we brought it with us to our holiday family photo shoot.  Apple Blossom Photography took the most amazing pictures of my sweet Ben in this crazy bunny suit, and these pics needed a special page all their own. I used the December 1st sketch from Stuck? Sketches for this single page layout.
I combined a Memo Fundamentals notebook paper with some (retired) Charlotte pink papers, Cranberry and Whisper Cardstock, and a bit of City Sidewalks holiday paper. I splattered some black watercolor over the notebook paper, and hand-wrote Ralphie's Christmas Theme onto the background. I diecut some snowflakes from silver glitter paper to go with the whisper snowflakes I stamped and then I embellished the snowflakes with lots of bitty rhinestones. I cut my title using the Flower Market Cricut cartridge font combined with some stamped words stolen from the February SOTM (sneak peek!). I finished with a lot of rhinestone embellished silver hand stitching and some American Crafts washi tape. I'm also linking this page up to the current issue over at Paper Issues.

Next up on the hop is SANDY'S BLOG. Happy Hopping!

Watercolor Polaroid SOTM Card

Happy Monday, Stampin' Friends! I had a little fun with my watercolors today for the new sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
I missed out on the SOTM Blog Hop, but I still wanted to play with this cute new set called Life in Pictures. I masked off the edges on the top of my card with washi tape and stamped on one of the camera images using second generation Lagoon Ink. Then I went back in with full Lagoon ink to add the CLICK! sentiment. When I peeled off the washi it had preserved that nice crisp white edge around my card.
I stamped the Polaroid onto some watercolor paper and filled in the photo with my watercolor paints. I free handed the heart image in the center, choosing to blend some green and yellow watercolors to get the right green to go along with this week's Color Throwdown challenge. When it dried then I stamped the sentiment over the top with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Gilmore Girls Crush Book Cover Page

So I joined a little swap group of gals who love Gilmore Girls. I LOVE Gilmore Girls. I couldn't be more excited about the revival shows coming up. While Max wishes to move to Hogwarts, I'm a Stars Hollow girl through and through.
So I joined a swap group where we all bought Crush Books (I chose Bluebird, which incidentally are on clearance on my website right now for less than $4. But I digress...). We are crafting pages in the books based on specific themes for each round of the swap, mailing our books person to person so we can create pages in each others Gilmore Girls books. For my cover page I wanted to kind of make a map of Stars Hollow like this one, including lots of my favorite Stars Hollow places.
I used scraps of old B&Ts, print-outs of pics I found on google, and lots of ephemera that's been hanging out in my stash with no purpose. I made sure to include the bridge, which is central to one of my favorite Luke scenes, Kim's Antiques, and, of course, a big coffee cup for Luke's Diner.  I left a space at the bottom to add some journaling when my book makes it back around to me, full of scrappy goodness from my fellow GG loving friends.  I don't feel completely done with this page yet, but I had to mail it off on schedule so I had to stop.

I can admit that this book is a project that I totally do not need to add to my busy, busy life, and yet it makes me so very happy when I'm working on it. Unpacking, unschmacking, it's Gilmore Girls. Copper boom!

Day 352: AHSC So Very Special Valentine Card

There's an adorable new sketch up over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!
I still had all my La Vie En Rose Complements packets out from my project last night, so I decided to do another card with only white cardstock. I layered on arrow stickers for the bottom of the card sketch. Then I layered on polka dot washi tape for the smaller panel.
I used three of the heart bull's-eye and a sentiment banner from the La Vie stickers. Then I topped the center target with my favorite little guy from Animal Greetings. He's holding a Fundamentals glitter heart. I hope you'll pop over to AHSC to play along this week!

Day 312: Planners Gonna Plan

Can you say, "Squee!!"? My new CTMH Planner bundle arrived today, with a few goodies from the new Seasonal Expressions, and I couldn't wait to dive in!
The beautiful planner cover is a bit bigger than 9x8 and features this pretty gold foil design.
The planner pages include 12 monthly tabs, a pocket folder with gold foil designs, a pretty bookmark, and 4 sheets of planner stickers. I love the variety of different designs they used for the monthly dividers.
Each month includes a two page spread for the monthly calendar as well as two page weekly spreads.
I also got the January special Live Your Day PML cards (sneak peek) that coordinate and the sweet washi tape and roller stamp. Just until the end of December 31st you can get the CTMH Planner Bundle for a nice discount
I just started working on my January layout today. I added a few bits from the Penelope Complements (which goes live January 1), plus some extra washi tapes. I'm going to use my planner as an actual planner plus I'll be adding stamping, quotes, life planning, and more to the monthly pages. I plan to use the weekly pages to organize my blog posts and ongoing CTMH projects. I just LOVE my pretty new planner!

Day 294: Be Merry Snowman Card

So after I finished last night's card I thought it would be fun to make another of these non stamping cards using my Simple Stories 6x6 pad...
So I grabbed a few scraps and some of the small square/rectangular "cards" plus a bunch of washi tape and in a few minutes I had this guy. I trimmed the sentiment out of an ornament card and added him to a Fundamental Basics word bubble sticker.
After I layered on the washi "stripes" I popped on a few sequins, then filled them with glitter gel. I squished the gel with my fingertip to scatter the glitter. I added a few last dots of shimmer gel pen around my sequins, and to highlight details on the snowman and ornaments. I'm linking this card up to the Just Us Girls sequins trend week challenge.

Day 282: Light in My Life Friend Card

Happy Monday! Welcome to another week with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I found this week's sketch to be fast and fun!
I made my card using the December Stamp of the Month, Candlelight Garden. First I stamped the string of lights image across the card. Then I layered on a bunch of different washi tapes. I stamped the mason jar on scrap cardstock and added the candle and candle accessories. Then I watercolored the images with my waterbrush and ink from the lid of my ink pads (Juniper and Honey).
I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner, then layered the jar over top. I popped up the first word of the sentiment with thin foam tape. Finally I threw a wash of clear Wink of Stella over the candle glow and FRIEND sentiment. Fast and Fun - hope you'll hop over to Atlantic Hearts and play along this week!
Don't forget to check out the fab deals over at the Cyber Week sale!

Day 179: Thanks for the Lift Card

Tonight I wanted to do something for the Freshly Made #200 sketch challenge. The sketch is so open ended that I literally stared blankly into space for quite some time.  Finally I decided I had to use what was already on my desk and just start!
I stamped the top of my white cs panel with the THANKS sentiment from the August SOTM in Glacier Ink. Then I added a panel of the green dot pattern from Zoe. I crossed that with a strip of my new Love My Tapes cloud washi.
I stamped the balloon directly onto the card, then again onto some scrap cardstock. I used my water brush to blend Glacier, Sorbet, and Canary ink across the balloon, basket, hearts, and teensy flag. Then I trimmed out the bits I wanted and attached them to the image stamped onto the card base. I added a canary water colored sentiment flag. Finally I added some touches of shimmer gel pen along the edges of the balloon, as dots in the panels of the balloon, and along the edges of the sentiment banner. The stamp set is Lifting Spirits, and I'm so bummed that it's retiring at the end of this month

Day 176: Sending Love Your Way Card

Today I got my order from Love My Tapes, and I couldn't wait to bust into the rolls of goodness.
I based my card on the new sketch from Cardabilities. Instead of the banner I added a swath of this adorable heart cloud washi tape. I think it's gonna be a favorite, so cheerful and bright!
Then I paper pieced the balloon from Lifting Spirits using Zoe papers. I'm so bummed that Lifting Spirits is retiring at the end of this month, I need to get a few more projects in with this set! I added some sparkly accents with a shimmer gel pen and a red Wink of Stella marker. Quick and simple so I can tuck it into the mail for a special friend tomorrow!

Day 167: Thinking Of You August SOTM Card

So I saw the new MUSE Card Club challenge earlier this week, and I knew exactly the card I wanted to make... but I just couldn't get around to crafting it until tonight.
Karen Morris just sent me Lovely Birthday as part of a generous prize for her fab monthly SOTM card swap, and I thought it would be perfect for lifting that sweet MUSE card. I stamped my branches in Kiwi ink, then colored in the leaves using my waterbrush and that same Kiwi pad. I stamped the August SOTM sentiment onto the card in Lagoon ink, then on scrap white CS in Black. I trimmed out the banner and attached that over the Lagoon stamped image. Then I added some hearts in Cranberry ink, colored again with my trusty waterbrush.
I stitched on a swirl using my Stitch guide. I stamped three of the smaller Lovely Birthday flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored them with my waterbrush and some Saddle ink. After they dried a second I trimmed them out and mounted them over the stitched swirl, topping them with some Bitty Sparkles I colored black with an alcohol marker. I lined the edges of the card base with some silver and white chevron washi tape, then mounted the finished stamped panel onto the card base.

I'm hoping to get in some scrapbooking tomorrow, while the boys clean up the yard in preparation for our water balloon blast on Sunday!

Day 91: You're Invited Gold Glitter Card

Tonight I was starting a completely different project when I spied this YOU'RE INVITED Cricut cut just laying on my desk. It reminded of the new CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge and suddenly I was off on a tangent. A glittery, gold tangent!
I've been meaning to join in over at the Color My Heart Dare blog for a while and this week the color combo is Black, White, and Gold. I knew this diecut would be sweet in gold glitter, but I hadn't cut it in Gold glitter paper. It was a leftover from when I did my Cricut boards so it was cut in Colonial White. I laid out my background in black and white arrow washi tapes while I pondered. I stamped on my sentiment from my fav Happy Everything set, and pondered more,
I knew I didn't want to cover it all in Stickles, because to cover such a large area it'd be a lot of stickles and probably two coats with touch-ups. No time for that...so I went old school. I got out my Bonding Memories 2 way glue pen and colored that die cut bit by bit, adding super fine gold glitter as I went, Then I popped the glittery diecut up over my washi tape background...and went around the edges with a slightly darker shade of Stickles. 'Cause nothing sets off glitter like more glitter, am I right?

Now I can go to bed happy...covered with glitter, but happy. G'night, Stampin' Friends!

Day 50: Butterfly Thinking of You

I can hardly believe that I've been daily blogging projects for 50 days now. When I set out to do this, I was hopeful, building my blog planner and making time to craft most nights. Now I've for Heirloom Pro show prep, and some other stuff brewing...but I'm still blogging. I think that calls for a little giveaway, right? But first...
Today I've been working on a Hexagon themed card kit for the Heirloom Pro booth next month. I loved the contrast of the brightly colored butterfly against the sketchy leaves. How cute are the tiny hexagon corner pieces?
I couldn't capture the sparkle of the butterfly, but there's shimmer in the colored areas, and on the tiny black butterflies too. Plus the spritz I used is opalescent. I stitched around the edge with 2 strands of white cotton thread.

Now for the giveaway! I'm putting together a little grab bag of some of my favorite embellies. I'm a lumpy bumpy girl, and I want to send you some bling! Enter using the Rafflecopter below, and at the end of the week I'll announce the winner. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Day 47: Retro AHSC Birthday Card

I loved the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch so much this week I made two cards!
It's the exact same card as this one (of course, since I'm using the same sketch) only this time I used some really, really old retired paper with a retro feel.

Instead of filling the balloons with glitter this time I used some of the washi tape I won from SpiegelMomScrapShop. She's got an awesome Etsy Store, and I "met" her on Instagram! I got that fabulous cork border from her too, and painted it with some black Wink of Stella, which I also used on the sentiment stamp.

Hop over to Atlantic Hearts to see more sketch goodness and play along!

Day 29: Happy Everything Card

I was SO SO SO very crafty yesterday hanging out online at the #PICrop with Paper Issues. There are tons of fab challenges to complete, and they aren't due until March 29th, so it's not too late to join in the fun!
I made this card for Dona's Stitching Challenge. The background built out of 1" strips of Black cardstock on a white CS base with tiny 1/4" strips of washi tape. I trimmed a polaroid out of a PML card for the main card element. I was using the MUSE challenge #109 as a kind of sketch, and the JUGS Color Challenge of Black, White, plus one color as inspiration.
I hand-stitched around the polaroid with two strands of teal sewing thread. Then I stamped the sentiment and the balloons (from a set that will be released in  April). I stamped the balloons again on scraps of glitter paper and trimmed them out to fill the balloons. Then I tacked the edges of the polaroid with more skinny washi and washi tape arrows.

I've got so many projects to share from the crop this weekend, and I'm still working on more challenges -

SOTM Love Hip Pics Pages

A few weeks ago I shared this little Album cover for the January SOTM Blog Hop.
Today I'm finally sharing all the inside goodies.
This is a mini album of the Instagram pics I took of my kiddo during his first month of obsessive tuxedo wearing. He wore it everywhere. He did everything in it. If I'd let he he would've slept in it. He still wears it a couple times a week. Best $20 I ever spent on eBay!
Super fun, right? I just love these little pics, but now I'm gonna have to make an extra one of these for my little fashion plate. He constantly wants to see his Tuxedo book!

I'm linking up to the Paper Issues Prints Charming party with this book of fab photos of my little Prince Fancy Pants.
