Thanks for all of you who voted for my card (or any of the wonderful cards) in the Practical Scrappers Card Contest this week. You can still vote until Wednesday, so take a peek - there's some super cuteness out there!
Today's card is for the next round of that contest, a polka dot birthday card! Instead of choosing one of our many wonderful polka dot based B&T papers I decided to create some polka dots of my own.I punched circles in Kraft paper and backed them with bits of Smoothie, Sweet Leaf, and Lagoon Cardstock. I added smaller polka dots with Bigger Brads and mini sparkles. Lots of "hand stitching' with a Sakura gel pen too!
I think this is my favorite detail though. I ran a strip of Sweet Leaf CS through my Xyron machine then applied tiny strips of Smoothie, Lagoon, and White Daisy to create my stripes on the adhesive side of the Xyron coated Cardstock. I filled in the remainder of the adhesive on the Sweet Leaf Cardstock with Prisma Glitter. Instant custom sparkly stripes!
I chose the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger as my inspiration for this polka dotty birthday card - I just loved the bright colors!
I hope you'll pop by Practical Scrappers to vote before Wednesday. And don't forget to click over to enter my giveaway for this Friday...the rafflecopter form is at the bottom of that post!
