Happy Spring Hexagon Card

So I was all proud of my self, because I made a bunch of these cards at the beach retreat I attended at the beginning of February, so I had my card for this week's new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge done totally early for once! Aaaaaand then I gave away every single on of these cards without taking any pictures. Luckily my good friend Amanda saved my bacon with some phone shots so I could share some more bunny cuteness with y'all.
When I saw this week's cute sketch I thought immediately of those pale blue robin's eggs with the brown speckles and so I set out to make that background. Here you are looking at the painful way - I spritzed the hexagons with brown shimmer spray and then lined them up, adhering them one by one to the background. Halfway through my mass productions my brilliant friend Cathy mentioned I should just spritz the background and use the hexagon frame scraps (The hexagons are a cricut cut, so the outlined of the hexagons were just sitting in a pile next to my piles of hexagons) as an overlay on the spritzed background. That was way easier, so I made a bunch for our swap and a few that said Happy Valentine's Day for the boys' teachers! That's how I ended up giving them all away.
In any case, I love the little bunny peeking out from behind the sentiment, and they were fun to make even when gluing on a bazillion hexagons. The bunny and border images are colored with watercolor pencils. You can find the new Atlantic Hearts sketch HERE if you'd like to play along. You have just about another week to grab these cute bunnies before the hop away for good!

So Happy Hungry Caterpillar Layout

Happy Valentine's Day, Stampin' Friends! Today I'm sharing a sweet and scrappy project featuring my littlest dude. When I saw this sketch from Stuck Sketches, I immediately remembered these sweet pics of Max taking home his classroom caterpillar. I only had three pics, and my favorite one is kind of blurry, but I couldn't let sleeping caterpillars lie...
I used papers from the Dreamin' Big line. I just love this woodgrain! I drew and trimmed out my rustic star. The edges of all the pieces are scissor distressed.
Most of the embellishments came from the coordinating Complements. Some are cardstock weight stickers, but then there are these super cool acrylic pieces! I added black acrylic dots to the flower stickers.

This is my slightly blurry favorite picture. He gets that look when he thinks he's being funny or getting away with something, and he's had it since he was a tiny baby! to me, this is so Max. Also, can I just point out the ladybug? I mean, seriously. {Double heart!} Am I the only one with a thing for ladybugs?
In honor of the sweetest day of the year, CTMH is offering an awesome flash sale from 2 p.m. on February 14th through 2 p.m. on the 15th. A Blog Hop with Heart(s)

Welcome to the Blog Hop with Heart(s). This month's theme is, of course, hearts! You might be arriving here from BECCA'S BLOG. You can find a complete list of blogs at the bottom of this post. Let's hop!
I have the simplest little project this month. When I heard the theme was hearts I made a lot of plans, but today Mac came home from school complaining that he needs his Valentine's Box for his classroom. Ahem, what do you mean? I guess a note was sent last week, but moving is killing my last brain cells, so I missed that part. We duct taped a small box (something we aren't lacking around here right now, lol) with shiny silver duct tape. Then we used scrapbooking cardstock and more red duct tape to create a Harry face and scarf to fit on the top of the box. Everything was eyeballed and handcut, because dinner had to be made and time was of the essence, YKWIM? We filled his glasses with acrylic hearts, which I attached with strong glue so they won't pop off. Then I sawed a mouth into the face (sorry, Harry) so kids can stuff the Valentines in. Max is thrilled, we are all caught up, and Harry is pretty darn cute. We even wrote "alohamora" on the back where he can open the box to get his goodies out!

Next up on the hop is SHELLY'S BLOG. I'm sure you'll {HEART} all the projects, so be sure to keep hopping until you end up back here!

Nobunny Like You Heart Card

This weekend I was lucky enough to scrap and stamp with some of my favorite peeps at the coast! We spent the whole weekend giggling, crafting, and hanging out and it was so much fun. One of the projects I made was this card for my team to make as a hands-on for our meeting next Sunday.
This is the February Stamp of the Month again, called Easter Bunny. I was working off the sweet new sketch for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. After using a dot folder to emboss my White Daisy background, I added this wreath image that I die cut with the coordinating Thin Cuts die. The dotted paper is from the new Dreamin' Big paper line. I stamped the bunny with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with my handy watercolor pencils, blending with my small waterbrush. I tied on some grey thick twine, which I separated and then tied both strands on at the same time. My friend Amanda said that I should add a Lagoon cardstock mat to my card front, and of course she was right!
She also helped me get over my own laziness to add some paws to the little heart this sweet guy is holding. I found the tiny tulip image from the floral border included with the Happy Easter set was perfect for making his little paws. As a final touch I gave him some oversized wiggly eyes and then I squealed with happiness for entirely too long. I might be squealing again even as I type this - his eyes are just that adorable! I'll try to contain myself as I link up to the Paper Issues Let's Play Post Office Linky Party

Nobunny Like You Card

Happy February, Stampin' Friends! I am all moved into the new place, and the stamp room is almost ready for sharing. I can't tell you how good that feels. I couldn't wait until I finished really unpacking to get my paws inky, so I whipped up a sweet February Stamp of the Month card to share before I take off for a scrapbook retreat at the coast this weekend.
This Easter Bunny stamp set is the most adorable thing! My card was inspired by the new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. If you've been hanging out here with me, you know that I am just not a one layer card crafter, but for this card I simply stamped the floral image three times with brown Memento ink. Then I colored the flowers with my watercolor pencils. I used reds, pinks, and brown, playing along with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. Don't you just {heart} her polka dot dress?
I blended the watercolor pencils with my small waterbrush - love that tiny tip! Then I rubbed a pencil onto the tip of the damp brush and swooped it down under the area where my sweet little bunny would go. Then I flicked the tip of my waterbrush to throw some extra dots of color onto the card. I stamped and colored her on watercolor paper, then cut her out and added thin 3-D foam tape to give her a little extra something-something. The stitch lines were drawn on with a brown watercolor pencil after everything was dry.

I'm sure I'll have more sweet bunny art to share with you after my crafty friends getaway this weekend. I'm linking this card up to the Heart 2 Heart Falling in Love challenge, since I'm completely head over heels for these sweet bunnies!
