July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring July's SOTM, which is a funky cute font called Circus Alphabet, a set of 69 stamps.  If you have come here from MICHELLE'S BLOG, you are on the right path! This month I designed a 10 card workshop using the July SOTM for all of the sentiments and focused on using only White Daisy Cardstock (along with 5 rainbow colored markers). I made good use of our versatile Art Philosophy and Artiste Cricut cartridges, plus I used a few of our new awesomely crisp embossing folders!  All ten cards came from just 4 sheets of White Daisy Cardstock (plus card bases) making for clean and simple cards with bright punches of color! I love the dramatic impact of white on white cards too - so crisp and pretty. Consultant kit info for this project will be posted tomorrow, as I'm in the middle of revamping that page completely to correspond with the new policies announced at convention.

Practical Scrappers Sparkly Joy Altered Letters

Good morning, Scrappin' Friends! I'm so excited to share this glittery holiday display today, which is getting it's own feature over at Practical Scrappers today! I got these cool Paper Mache Letters which I painted with layers of grey and silver acylic paint. The front of the letters I coated with lots of Silver Glitter, just some standard chunky kid glitter. Then I got to work with the Mod Podge, pasting on hexagons I cut with my Cricut machine. After all the hexagons were attached and trimmed around the letters I did a final coat of Mod Podge and coated the letters with Chunky Clear Plastic Glitter. 

Here you can see the final coating of what I always call kid glitter because it's uber chunky. It adds a lot of sparkle, but still let's your paper shine through! I topped off each letter with a snowflake embellishment I built out of glitter paper cricut cuts and some retired rhinestone brads that I've been hoarding for just this kind of special project. I finished off my bling with a Sparkle Flourish for each letter. I adhered the flourishes with lots of Liquid Glass, which dried clear so it didn't interfere with the sparkle of the letters. For the parts of the flourish that were not actually attached to the letters I just flipped the whole thing over and coated the sticky part of the flourish with more Liquid Glass so it wouldn't attract hair or dust.

Fall Wreath Blog Candy!

Tonight, in between working on swap cards (posting soon) and watching "Walking Dead" online, I made a wreath for the front door! I have a beautiful Christmas one made for my by a sweet friend, Diana Yockey, but since we were renting before we didn't often decorate for the holidays. Now we're moved in, mostly unpacked (at least if you don't peek in the garage), and a wreath seems appropriate. Since the new challenge at Heart 2 Heart was to make something Halloween or Fall themed, and the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab was so pretty, I combined the two ideas and created this wreath. I used a big roll of Ponderosa Pine Organdy Ribbon to wrap the wreath form. Then I pinned and glued the Just Blooms leaves on the wreath (that was the watching AMC online part, lol). These leaves are retired now, but I want to make another of these for Spring using the new Just Blooms BUTTERFLIES!

Then I added a row of the big Vineyard Berry maple leaves with the new Cork Alphabet letters attached. then I made a triple layered bow using lots of green and orange (retired) ribbons and now we're ready to hang!

The Tuesday Trigger image is this neat collage of autumn colored wooden blocks. I liked the different heights of the wood blocks, which is what made me remember my stash of paper leaves tucked in the bottom of my paper flower drawer. They are precolored, accept more inks, and embossed with line detail...and unfortunately, retired.
