Day 17: Sending Joy Your Way Card

I cannot put down this cute butterfly from the Brushed WOTG stamp set this week. I keep thinking I'm done, and then...I have to make another card with it. It's just too cute! This time I used the new sketch from Mojo Monday.
This time I added the big "Joy Captured" circle...but I didn't want my card to say that. So I masked off the captured but and added parts of the "Sending love your way" from Lifting Spirits. I used Heartstrings paper and Stickease as part of the card design - I don't have much left after all the pages and cards I did with this paper packet, but CTMH's #jrlcreativechallenge this week was to use Heartstrings, because it's going away at the end of March. Sob! I covered up the 2 on the StickEase with a little heart cut from a B&T scrap. And there's a bit of white shimmer trim peekin' out in my banner area.
I stamped over the Joy circle with Doodled Designs, and added hearts from that same set. I colored the hearts with a Shin Han marker and lightened them up with the blender pen. Hello, pretty butterfly!
On the inside I added a bit more doodling and a sentiment from Have a Happy Day. When you color with alcohol markers it always bleeds through to the back. So after coloring the hearts inside the card, I just flipped it over to the back and stamped the hearts shapes over the bleed through, so even the back of the card has a little somethin' somethin'.

Tomorrow we will not be visiting with my friendly little butterfly... but something tells me I'm not quite done with that stamp yet!

Day 16: Atlantic Hearts Thank You Card

Yesterday I went to grab a thank you card from my stash...only to discover that there were no thank you cards left. Birthday cards, congrats on your new baby cards...but no thank you cards. Luckily I had the new Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch on my desk, so it was time to get inky!
I used some Brushed B&T and the adorable stamp set from the Brushed Workshop On The Go. I outlined the layers with a fine point black marker. I inked the butterfly image in Canary ink and rolled it in Thistle ink - so light and pretty!
I outlined the butterfly with pink stickles. Then I added drops of pink stickles around the card and dropped black sparkles into the glitter puddles. I backed the thanks with a scrap of pink glitter paper and now I'm ready to send my happy thoughts!

Pop over to Atlantic Hearts to share your take on Sketch 98!

Day 15: Retro Happy Birthday

So I still had Doodled Designs hanging out on my desk when the new Retrosketches card sketch hit my inbox. Um, can you say perfect? And I was off...
I used Confetti Wishes for may background layers, and added some sponged Orange Peel Stickles for a shimmery, splotchy painty feel on the background. I stamped on the doodle and added the happy sentiment from the special exclusive stamp set in the Brushed Workshop on the Go. The pretty butterfly is from that set too. I inked it in Thistle ink and rolled the edges in Black ink, then I filled all the dots with clear, sparkly glitter gel.
I added a few black sparkles and thistle stamped hearts...but I felt unfinished. So I grabbed a sorbet puffy heart sticker from the Chalk It Up Assortment and attacked it with a purple alcohol marker. It was nice and purple...but I scribbled in a black border. Then I covered it in Liquid Glass for a super shiny finish and popped it onto the butterfly center.

Back tomorrow with another Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge card using this same set, but with a totally different feel!

Day 14: Project Life Mini Album

I had done one of my pocket scrapbooking mini albums for a class at a local scrapbook store that ended up not happening, so I thought I'd share anther mini with you - birthday themed this time!
I used the Becky Higgins Celebrate themed Project Life cards and a black/white polka dot washi tape.Still no extra embellies - just cardstock, cards, and washi!
I added an adorable cupcake trimmed from a card overlapping the flaps.
You could tuck a gift card into the pocket and add a few photos to make this a special birthday card too. You can find the ordering info on my PML mini album kit here. I'll share some of the cards next week!

Day 13: Happy Retro Birthday

Today I was cleaning off my craft table when I realized I hadn't used up all my Confetti Wishes assortment goodies. That was unacceptable, so I whipped up a quick birthday card.
I hopped over to Retro Sketches, because they always have an adorable sketch. I filled in the sketch with Confetti Wishes paper left over from the scrapbook kit I'm releasing on Sunday the 15th. Then I added a sentiment and that blue border using leftover StickEase - yes, those are candle stickers. I drew in the stitch lines and mounted my card front to the card base..
That circle reminded me of my newest stamp set, Doodled Designs, which I had to get because I saw Sheryl using it and, well, cuteness! I added my leftover embellie, and added some sparkly Stickles to the stamped hearts and polka dots. So cute, so fast!
I had a few more pieces of StickEase left, so I prettied up the inside of the card too. I added the "best wishes" stamp from Timely Tidings, one of those adorable little $3 stamp sets. I love getting to use up every last bit of my scrapbooking purchases!
