Day 22: Confetti Wishes

Today was Ben's birthday. I didn't get the pics edited yet, but we did a lot of fun crafty things I'll be sharing tomorrow. Today, I'd like to share my Confetti Wishes 6 page scrapbook kit.

It was a lot of fun to work with these brightly colored papers and embellies!

We will do some fancy cutting of the Complements StickEase to get more mileage out of our kit materials. I just love the sparkle that blue shimmer trim adds!

Day 21: Spectacular Day Card

Today I've been working hard on getting ready for the Peter Pan themed birthday party we are throwing for Ben and a dozen of the neighborhood kids tomorrow. I'll post pics of all the crafty Neverland fun tomorrow - but today's hectic pace called for a quick and easy card.

So I hopped over to ColourQ for some color inspiration. I knew I'd been hoarding saving these Ariana Chipboard glasses for something special. I splashed some Kiwi ink over the Colonial White CS base. Then I sponged on some green glitter nailpolish and added a few more darker dots with a black ink pen. I'm linking my splatter background up to the Just Us Girls Trend week challenge.  

Then I used parts of a sentiment from Have a Happy Day, but included the 'spectacular" with kraft alphabet stickers. I added some bitty sparkles to the eyeglass frames. I also hand-drew some penwork detail around the card edge, and some subtle glitter pen detail around the kraft alphabet letters. I'm wearing that green glitter polish on my nails right now  - just a little nod to Tink for the party tomorrow! 

Day 20: Love This Life

This week's #jrlcreativechallenge is using Heartstrings papers because they are going away at the end of this month. I made a card...but then I remembered that I had a pack of the Heartstrings Picture My Life cards. 

I popped over to Paper Issues to check out the adorable Sketchy Saturday Sketch, I knew I coudl make it work with the cards I'd chosen, so I grabbed a sheet of Cranberry Cardstock and started stitching.

First I stitched the grid with two strands of white sewing thread. Then I added a second line of stitching with a single strand of black thread. I used some leftover Heartstrings StickEase and trimmed out elements from the PML cards.

I only had a scrap of this arrow paper left, so I cut out strips of the B&T with my microtip scissors. That way I could fill in the grid with my teensy scrap of B&T paper. Plus it looks more like arrows. 

I stamped my title onto Lagoon Cardstock using the super cute Hopscotch Alphabet that I won from CTMH. It was pretty easy to trim out the letters - it's my new favorite alphabet. It was really fun to use my pocket scrapbooking cards in a new way.

Day 19: Super News

I picked up this funky Scotch Expressions Washi Tape that I thought would be perfect with Max's 1966 Batman obsession like ages ago. Then I realized we need a boy type birthday card this weekend,  remembered the awesome washi, and ten minutes later I had this...

The paper is retired CTMH superhero. Yes. I hoard old paper. I'm not ashamed. Much. I wish I had more of this stuff. I used the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. 

I added a cool red random button from my stash, some dots of gold glitter gel, and a few Black Acrylic enamel stars. I'm linking this one up to the Paper Issues Enamored with Enamel party. My sister Heidi is visiting and she suggested the Black card base. Smart girl! 

I used a phrase from next month's Stamp of the Month inside and out. I love the typewriter-y font. Tomorrow I've got a layout for you. Good night!

Day 18: Muse Thank You Card

When the Muse Card Club challenge hit my inbox I knew I was in love with the Inspiration card by Michele Ferguson. The yellow and black - just so pretty! 

I stamped the balloon and clouds with Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored everything using just one Shin Han marker and the blender pen. I added a few bits of arrow washi tape and some gold Stickles.

I love the depth of color shading you can get with just the blending pen. I'm not even a super good colorer, but I was very happy with my one color marker shading. In this shot you can see the Canary cardstock background better. I inked it in Canary Ink using a sunburst template and finished it with a spritz of glitter spray. It's so shimmery!
