Day 52: You Are Sew Special Card

Today I've got another sweet card from my Heirloom Pro sewing card kit to share.

I think that I originally saw this inspiration card from Lisa Stenz, and tucked that cute thought away for a good long while. My version is slightly different and I added a little banner flag to my bigger sentiment. 

I popped up all the hearts with foam tape for some extra dimension. That made it easier to place them too, since I could line them up and nudge them around before committing. Thanks for the inspiration, Lisa!

Day 51: Just BEE-cause Card

I'm doing 4 card kits for the Heirloom Pro show, so I'm still on the hexagon/honeycomb kick.  

I got there because this cut if one of my absolute favorite Cricut cuts on the Artbooking Cartridge. I cut it a lot, and in lots of different sizes. This time I went for the mini hexagons, so I cut it at 5 1/4" tall. I knew I'd just gotten a stamp set with a cute little bee image...so I searched...and looked under the stacks on my desk (you don't craft 50 daily projects in a row without making a craftastrophe of sorts...well, at least I don't!)...but couldn't find it. Then I remembered - its on my fav new stamp set Happy Everything. I'd used every stamp on that set multiple times except the bee ones.

I colored his stripes with my Shin Han markers and filled his little wings with glitter gel. Just because...glitter. I'm linking this card up to the Paper Issues Prints Charming linky because these bees be stamps, which is also prints.  

Day 50: Butterfly Thinking of You

I can hardly believe that I've been daily blogging projects for 50 days now. When I set out to do this, I was hopeful, building my blog planner and making time to craft most nights. Now I've for Heirloom Pro show prep, and some other stuff brewing...but I'm still blogging. I think that calls for a little giveaway, right? But first...

  Today I've been working on a Hexagon themed card kit for the Heirloom Pro booth next month. I loved the contrast of the brightly colored butterfly against the sketchy leaves. How cute are the tiny hexagon corner pieces? 

I couldn't capture the sparkle of the butterfly, but there's shimmer in the colored areas, and on the tiny black butterflies too. Plus the spritz I used is opalescent. I stitched around the edge with 2 strands of white cotton thread.

Day 49: Sew Special Card

I'm so excited! My team just got the Heirloom Pro booths for Portland, OR and Puyallup, WA, so we have been working hard on Create-A-Card kits for the show.

 Do you remember this adorable Jubilee paper? I so love gingham everything! 

I stitched on a little swirl using the stitch guide, and ran my thread through the eye of the needle. I'll be sharing more sneak peeks of my card kit designs during this month. I sure hope I'll be seeing you at the show in May! 

Day 48: Happy For You Bird Card

I've got a cheerful card for you today, using the cute new sketch from Mojo Monday!

I've had this Happy Birds stamp set since Convention in July of last year, and I haven't inked it up since that first time I used it in class. This week I've made 4 cards with it. Guess the Mojo sketch got my mojo going! I sparked off the ColourQ color Challenge, using Smoothie, Lagoon, Honey, Kraft, and Colonial White. 

I cut some 6 pointed flowers from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, but stamped them with the 5 petal flower in the stamp set. After inking the edges I decided I liked that effect quite a lot. I added in some sentiment words from Happy To Be Friends, using them in the main sentiment and also in place of another strip of washi in the sketch design. The brush in the background came from Happy to Be Friends and Have a Happy Day which I just love so much. I added that circle from Doodled Designs too...I had quite the stack of stamps to put away when I was done with this one! 

I'm working on my first ever video on how I like to shape my leaves and flowers. We'll see how my iPhoneography lessons go this weekend...I did build a tripod using binder clips, washi tape, and rainbow loom rubber bands, so I'm feeling like a crafty MacGyver right now.  With that attitude and a paperclip, everything is possible!
