Georgie Layouts

Oh my, how the time flies this year. Tonight is the very last night for the current Annual Inspirations book. Time to say goodbye to some many awesome things, including this adorable Georgie paper that I've been messing around with for entirely too long as life had other plans for me. I'm super excited about the new goodies available starting August 1st, but this GOING SOON list breaks my crafty loving heart just a bit.  

I love the details in these pages - the sweet semi-transparent florals, the chipboard hearts and stars, and the super adorable little elephants.

I've got a watercolor hot air balloon going on here - so soft and pretty.

I just love a punny title, and those elephants just tug at my heart. 

If you want my instructions for these pages, I'm going to offer them for free - just contact me and give me your email. I'm super sad to not have finished before this idea book ended, but I do love how they turned out, even if the selfie camera only photography isn't as nice as I'd like. My new phone/camera arrives Wednesday and then I'll be back in business!

Thanks a Bunch Card

I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. I need to get my phone camera fixed or replaced and I just haven't had a chance between traveling to Florida, then Spokane, then barely home before I hopped up to Seattle for a Scrap Expo! But today is Monday and that means a new sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

I love the simplicity of this week's sketch. I cut my papers using the Magic line, which can do so much more than Disney. My color combo choices were inspired by the ColourQ challenge. I spattered the grey triangle background B&T with blue and red watercolor paint. Then I stamped on the Doodled Designs circle, which is one of my favorite images and I'm completely heartbroken that it's retiring at the end of July, so if you want it NOW is the time, Stamping Friends. 

I stamped the floral spray from A Bunch of Love and cut them out using the coordinating Thin Cuts Dies. I colored them in using Shin Han markers, then popped them up with thin foam tape. Finally I added a bunch of fun sparkles all around my floral spray. I hope you'll hop over to AHSC and play along with this week's sketch!

I'll Stand By You Rainbow Flamingo Card

One of the awesome things we did at convention was a card drive to collect blank handmade cards for a local charity in Orlando. I had some cards already in my stash, but decided at the last minute that I needed to make something special and specific to Orlando. As I worked, I sent all my good thoughts and wishes to everyone affected by the tragedies in Orlando. 

I painted a variety of watercolor wash rainbows. I made 8 different washes. After they dried, I chose my favorite, and added some fun gold touches, following along with the new sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  That gold stripe zip strip is from May's Happy Times special, I added the flamingos from Tickled Pink, cut out using the matching thin dies. 

My sentiment is actually from Lawn Fawn. I love the flamingo sentiments in Tickled Pink, but in this case I felt that this sentiment said better how I felt and maybe someone might need a card like this right now. Sending hugs and love out to everyone, everywhere...

Find Joy in the Journey Layout

One final piece of Inside Out art...this is my layout for this years convention art contest. I wanted to build the memory ball system from cardstock!

I Cricut cut a bazillion tiny 1/2 inch balls, which I individually  inked, pearlized with Wink of Stella and glittered. I cannot tell you how much I love these memory balls! I lined them up on glitter paper rows, and hand stitched between with silver thread. Then I added a swirl of bigger memory balls over top the rows of neatly stored memory balls. You can imagine the fun my kiddos and I had trying to take these silly emotion selfies!

Here you can see a bit more of the sparkle. My niece is the genius who pointed out to me that JOY is literally in the word Journey. I painted my title letters with layers of watercolor paints before adding the sparkle to make them match the tiny memory balls. I love working on an intricate layout like this. It gives you a lot of time to ruminate on a topic deeply, and I feel working on this layout really helped me to feel better about the moving and change I've experienced my whole life. Scrapbooking = cheap therapy!

Bing Bong Flower Button

Speaking of using the Cricut drawing feature, I also made these adorable Bing Bong flower name tags for my ladies. Can you just picture my littles running around singing "Who's your friend that loves to stamp?"? Too much fun!

I used a basic oval shape to form the Bing Bong Flower. That's on one of the cartridges that's retiring soon, Art Philosophy, and it's also one of my very most favorite Cricut cartridges ever and I'm utterly heartbroken it's going away. Well, I'm heartbroken for you if you don't have it, 'cause I'm keeping mine forever! I literally us this cartridge every time I Cricut. I topped off my flower with a standard button and a whole lot of green stickles. I love Bing Bong...and stamping...and glitter!
