I was the lucky recipient of a beautiful piece of quilted artwork from my upline Ginni's wonderful mom, Barb. Barb is a gifted quilter, and I can't wait to hang her lovely quilt in my home. I used the Mojo Monday sketch (found HERE) to whip up a quick thank you card for Barb, using her favorite new paper packet, Sonoma. It's got all these rich purples and greens in it - lovely, just like Barb.
I used my favorite of the Sonoma papers for the background - love the pretty stylized floral background! I added faux stitching all around my card base, and on the embellishment focal points using my favorite new tool from the Fall catalog - the Ruler! I know, I know, not the sexiest tool, but this ruler is awesome. It's got a line of holes drilled into it to mark out large and small stitches plus a zig zag stitch - so now all my stitching can be even and look nice. Plus if you're in a hurry...as I was today, you can take a coordinating marker and drag it across the holes you pierced for faux stitching. The real holes with the marker line look very similar to real stitching, without a lot of time commitment - just what a busy crafter needs!
I finished off the card focal point with a couple of our new Just Blooms Flutter butterflies. Inked those up with Smokey Plum and Olive inks using my sponge daubers and topped them off with Glitter Glitz stardust gel and Mocha Opaques pearls. Now off to pop this in the mail before it gets lost in the shuffle of my crazy busy life!

Absolutely fabulous Wendy...your butterflies are beautiful!!!
Thanks, Lisa! I'd love to take more credit for them, but they come pre-molded and printed I just inked them and added glitter. It was so fast and easy - I'm so finally planning the making that butterfly chandelier I've been drooling voer at Pottery Barn Kids with these!
This is beautiful Wendy!
