I'm Stamping Royalty...

Only in my head, lol. I finally got my act together to submit a few cards for the awesome Paper crafts Mag Stamping Royalty contest this year. It's my first time entering, and I had no delusions of actually winning, but it was really fun to make some fancy cards for them, and now I get to share them on my blog! Which is awesome, since I missed a bunch of blogging while I worked on these...

I think this one was my favorite submission. I embossed the background with my favorite big dot cuttlebug folder. Then I edged my cricut cut frame with a silver gel pen. I colored the CTMH Color Ready Seam Binding ribbon in one inch chunks with my markers (Tulip, Sunset, Sunny Yellow, Pear, Pacifica, and Gypsy) then pleated it across the card using my stapler and some Liquid Glass. I rolled each Polka Dot Alphabet letter into two of the Ink colors, then fussy cut them and popped them up on 3-D foam tape.

Then there was the butterfly. Ah, butterflies, why do I love you so much? (Sorry, Caren C.!) I cut both layers of this butterfly from my sidekick, the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Then I colored the background layer with the same markers from the ribbon coloring and the front layer with my black marker. I sprayed the top black layer with Silver Spray glitter (LOVE!) and put everything together with 3-D foam tape and Sparkles for the body.

Speaking of letters you can customize, the Color Ready Alphabets are now in the "While Supplies Last" area of my website at just $1.50 a package! I'm stocking up, because, while I LOVE the versatility of a letter stamp, sometimes nothing beats the ease of a letter sticker. Especially letter stickers you can sponge/stamp/distress/and customize to your hearts content in two fonts! Oops - better make that one font - Hodge Podge sold out while I was typing this post!

Place any order on my website by Saturday of this week, and I'll mail you one of these pretty butterfly cards! Hello spring!

Wendy -

Love this card! I haven't see anyone blend the inks vertically on the letters like you did here - fabulous look and super creative! Can't wait to see some of you others!
