Club is tonight! I just LOVE club night! I know I'm "working" but it's so much fun it doesn't feel like work. The "Stamping Ladies" (as my boys call them) come over, we scrap all night, have a little dinner (and dessert!), giggle - I have the best job!
Tonight we are making these pages with the (sadly) now unavailable Footloose papers. I think we snatched up the last of those fabulous wood shapes last month! I used three sketches from the new Make It From Your Heart book, which is not only beautiful, but so affordable. it's at the top of my list of new favorite things! I pumped up the contrast so you would be able to see the stamping on this page. In Real Life it's subtle, so pretty - like the page is floating in an aquarium! I used bubble wrap to get the floaty background texture and stamp my letters!
OK - I know I just said these shell shapes are all sold out, but we do have them in OTHER SHAPES, so I wanted to share a close up of the Wooden Shapes we'll be embellishing tonight. They are sponged with Creme Brule ink, then swiped on the edges with Smoothie Ink. Then I painted hem with a thin layer of Pearl Paint. Next up i stamped some images or distressed them using my shiny new Lagoon Pigment Ink Square. Everything was sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heated with my heat tool to create a slightly shiny, pearly, bubbly finish on my previously flat uncolored wooden shapes. Gorgeous!
Those pigment ink squares are awesome! You get ten in a tower, and the price is nice, since they are meant to be disposable instead of re-inkable...and if you've tried to re-ink a pigment type pad...well, I'm happy to NOT have to mess with that. Plus now with the towers you can have 40 different colors of beautiful heat embossing color with just Clear Embossing Powder. They are color fast and fade resistant, meaning perfect for home decor projects that will be exposed to sunlight. And the work great with our new Alcohol Markers! I'm in LOVE!
