Practical Scrappers Ten Things Spray Mist Times Two

Today over at Practical Scrappers, the team is exploring Spray Mist. I am sharing two projects today, this layout for my Convention Extravaganza boards and a salt spray mist card. I spritzed the background of the layout with ruby and denim reinkers in our spray pens, using about 20 drops of reinker and filling the pen to the second line from the top with water. Then I added groupings of red, white, and blue hexagons hand-edged with black marker. 

All of the hexagons were cut on the new CTMH exclusive Cricut Cartridge called Artbooking (available August 1!). I used the outer hexagon overlay to line up my hexagons just so. Some I added washi or other accents. The quote is hand lettered over banners stamped in Whisper ink.

Pictures of the boys were mounted behind chipboard frames that come included in the Artbooking Bundle and accented with the new Red Shimmer tape (trimmed into hearts) and lots of bling from the ProPlayer Assortment and Base and Bling word tiles!

I did my title with a combo of stamping (LOVE) that is filled with paper pieces letters, a Cricut Artbooking title word (family), and our tiny epoxy letter stickers. I loved doing the hand stitching with my fancy new Stitching Ruler - this is just a single strand of standard black sewing thread.

Here's my salt spray mist card. I created the background using a Salt and spray mist technique. I'm linking this card up to the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge this week and the Heart 2 Heart Water Challenge.

I used glossy cardstock from my stash and applied Pear and Lagoon inks directly to the paper with my ink pads. Then I sprinkled the still damp glossy cardstock with kosher salt and sprayed it all over with spray mist I made in our Spray Pen, filling the pen with water and 20 drops of Outdoor Denim reinker. The reinker reacted with the salt creating the purple hue. After letting it sit and marinate for ten minutes I tissued off any remaining ink and brushed off the salt. Then I applied a bit of Stardust Glitter Glitz with my fingertip to add some shimmer to my pretty aquatic background.

The stamp set is C1541 New Baby - I just love that adorable whale! I embellished him with a googly eye, some of the new Twist Tie (3-D washi, lol) and Aqua Dots. I'm linking this card up to the Craftin' Desert Divas Wet & Wild Summer Linky Party where I am a guest designer this week.
