Today I'm taking a little break from sharing my CTMH Album Retreat layouts for a new sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
I was debating whether I wanted my scatter from the sketch to be autumn leaves or snowflakes, but then I saw this week's ColourQ challenge, so autumn leaves won. My colors are Honey, Poppy, Olive, and Pacifica. I used Friend Tree, which is featured on the CTMH blog today as well! After my card was stamped I used my fan brush to sweep washes of the inks over the card front. I also used the back end of the paintbrush to dot on some extra Olive dots and smudges. I used my trimmer to make 1/4" strips of shimmer tape to frame out my finished card.
I did a lot of stamp rolling to color the leaves. When I roll with multiple colors I always work from lightest to darkest ink colors so I won't ruin my lightest pad. For the largest leaves I inked the leaf in Honey, then rolled the edges in Poppy before stamping. For the lighter leaves I inked the leaf in Honey, then rolled the top half in Poppy and the bottom edge in Olive before stamping it off onto scratch paper - then I could finally stamp it onto my project. I love the little leaf veins overstamp image! I couldn't get the shimmer to photograph, but I also added some hand drawn windy swirls using clear Wink of Stella, which is very pretty in real life. Can't wait for my Shot Box to arrive!

I love these leaves so much. What a beautiful card! I'd put it in a frame and hang it on the wall.
Beautiful leaves, Wendy, lovely card! Thanks for playing with us at the colourQ.
