Sleeping with the fishes...

...or not! I'm up a little late this week trying to finish up some slightly overdue swap cards. I owe four designs, so you'll be seeing some fun Footloose and Victory cards from me over the next few days!

The first of my four swap cards is this little cutie fish bowl that I paper pieces using Cricut shapes. I based this card off the Card Patterns Sketch for this week. I turned the circle shape in the sketch into my fishbowl by adding some label and tag shapes to create the top and bottom of my bowl.

I embossed the top half of my Sweet Leaf card base with my Big dots Cuttlebug folder and highlighted some of the dots with Stardust glitter Glitz. I glittered up the bottom by applying Monoadhesive all over the bottom half, then dropping strips of CS and patterned paper across the card and filling in the spaces with Prisma glitter.

My fish (from the new adorable set called Under the Sea) was heat embossed with White embossing powder and White Daisy Pigment ink. I colored him in using my waterbrush by picking up ink from the lid of my ink pad: squeeze your pad and when you open it a perfect coloring puddle of ink will be waiting for you! I accented his stripes with Stardust Glitter Glitz and added a googly eye for some pop!

The sand dollar is stamped in White Daisy ink on Kraft CS. The shell was rolled in Creme Brulee and sunset inks, then misted lightly to blend before stamping. You should probably use water for that step...but I used my stamp cleaner, since it was right there on the table!

My ribbon was inspired by a bow I found in the bottom of my misting box. I have an old CTMH box that I lined with scratch paper that I use for misting papers with my spray pen. I sprayed this ribbon repeatedly with Sweet Leaf and Lagoon spray pen (20 drops reinker + water to the 2nd line form the top)...plus Tattered Angels Pearl Mist...plus a generous coating of Krylon Silver Glitter spray. So pretty and sparkly!!

Hopefully my swap cards will be so good when they are done that my swap group will forgive me my extreme lateness this time...Just a few more to glue together and I'll be mailing them off as fast as I can swim over to the post office!

I just love the stamp set we used here, C1494 Card Word Puzzle, which is just so pretty and so versatile!  Enjoy!

May Monthly Memories Club!

I can't believe how fast this year is flying by! It's already May, and the first Friday of the month means it's time for Monthly Memories Club. Hip, Hip Hooray!

Here's the trio of pages that we'll be creating Friday night using the lovely Florentine Papers. For this first page I figured a page with umbrella, sunshine, and spring birds is entirely appropriate for May in Oregon! I love the hearts raining out of the umbrella, which is paper pieced from Cricut Art Philosophy shapes. The bird and the sun are from the new Garden Wood Shapes - stamp-able, ink-able wooden diecuts. Can you say stinkin' cute? My two year old can...wonder where he learned it! I'm linking this to the Heart 2 Heart April Showers Bring May Flowers Challenge.

Our second set of pages was giving me fits to photograph! I had set it aside with the stitching under the hearts partially finished. When I came back to take the pics I couldn't figure out at first why it looked so weird...the needle and thread was still sticking out of it! The background is sprayed with the Spray Pen and is much more blue in person than I was able to get it in this photo without distorting the colors in the foreground. Perhaps a Photography course is in my future? It's so pretty and soft in person...

I have to admit that Brown Bag is not usually my favorite color...I have the same pack of it I originally bought when it became a color. It's not my bag, baby!

But here, heavily sanded with that pretty floral and lovely script paper...it's just the right color. There's a grouping of those Garden Wood shapes up in the corner. They are thin, so they layer up beautifully!

So that's it - Bring list will be in your inbox tonight, club members! See ya Friday!

Want to try out a month? In June we are doing my favorite papers from this catalog, Stella - the pages are sure to be stunning!

Kits for my club start at $15 for an Economy level kit! Click here for details - if you are local, the price includes a free crop night with dinner in my 900 square foot stamp pad. I fully believe Monthly Memories Club is the best deal in scrapbooking!

Why buy a Consultant Kit?
Q: Can I just buy the instructions without the paper pack?
A: No. Corporate policy does not allow CTMH consultants to sell instructions or templates without the purchase of product. This consultant "mini kit" adheres to corporate policy.
Q: Can you ship to Canada?
A: Yes. There is a Candian shipping option in the drop down menu for the mini kit. The full kit option is not available for international shipping.
Q: Can I just stamplift your project?
A: Sure thing! I love stamplifting (with proper credit, of course). The point of the consultant kit is for you to make use of my professional looking computer generated instructional handouts (which take me hours to put together, in the middle of the night, while my three small boys sleep if I’m lucky). If you want to stamplift my project from a few blog photos and create your own handouts, please do so and enjoy – sharing is caring! But you cannot use my personal photos, illustrations, or wording to create your handout, or ask me for the instructions without a kit purchase. Thanks for playing fair!
Q: Why are the US and Canadian Kits different?
A: Since I live the the US, I didn't realize that shipping a paper packet to Canada would cost me an arm, a leg, and my first born child - crazy! To make it fair, I'll be sending two Mini-Medleys for each kit purchased to our Canadian friends, so everyone gets a similar amount of retail product for their kit purchase, and it won't force me to make the Canadian Kit cost more for shipping (I hope!)
Q: When will  get my kit?
A: You should receive the PDF files for the Workshop Guide and the Consultant Guide/License within 24 hours of placing your purchase. US product orders will be placed within 3 days of the order and shipped to you within the standard CTMH turnaround time for your location. Canadian product orders will be placed within 3 days of the the order and re-shipped to you once CTMH delivers product to me! The three day window allows for Paypal transfer time. Questions? Contact me for more details!

CTMH Convention Lasso a Stamp Set Layout!

Today's the day! The last day to enter CTMH's Convention 2012 Lasso a Stamp Set contest! CTMH sent every consultant this adorable Stars Shine Bright Postcard. Being the paper hoarder that I am, I tucked it away to add to my convention pages...and shortly thereafter they announced this fun contest!

I love the fun color combo of Creme Brulee, Lagoon, and Sunset, so I naturally grabbed my Dotty For You papers and honed in on the Dotty backsides. I also used a bit of Stella across the bottom...even on a star themed layout I've got to sneak in some flowers! Be sure to click on the photo to see the details up close - there's a lot to see!

The journaling on  my layout talks about my trips to lots of wonderfully fun CTMH corporate events - not everything I've been to (that amazing Caribbean Cruise in 2005 is conspicuously absent, as is my trip to Convention in Las Vegas...since I was teaching Extravaganza that year I somehow have pretty much no pictures...sad...) but it's a round up of a lot of seriously good times!

Here's a closer look at the center cluster of Cricut and stamped images. I cut out the stars and stamped each layer in second generation Sunset ink using the April SOTM called "You are..." Then I sponged them with Creme Brulee Ink and swiped the Edges with Sunset ink. The smaller stars and tickets are from are stamped with images from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set. I added a pic of my team from 2011's Convention at DisneyLand to a Cricut ticket - that "Fun" pop of lagoon  is cut out and popped up. Along the bottom are smaller tickets with photos illustrating my journaling.

I placed Bitty brads in a ring around my sweet team and added more of the stamped and sponged stars. Bitty brads also underline the Stars Shine Bright Title. Thank you for Bitty Brads, CTMH - I love them so much!

Here's a peek at my journaling. It says:

In '02 I brought Newbie Wonder!
paired with a pic of me and Jeanette Lynton!

In '03 I brought my brand new team!
paired with a pic of me and two of my team of four fabulous ladies!

In '07 we brought in the worlds largest pizza...still LOL!
Ginni, Kelly K and I ordered a pizza, ostensibly just for 2 of us...but when it came they had to turn it sideways to fit it through the hotel door. It was the largest pizza I've ever seen. Pics were posted to the team email loop of me in my jammies laying on the floor next to the gigantic pizza. I still giggle everytime I think about it.

In '08 I brought my 6 mo. old son Ben!
He was an angel for the entire trip...but I forgot his Ergo baby carrier, and that sweet baby weight 20 pounds at 6 months, so my back paid for that error! Ben was there for my gal Cathy's big win at General Session, was babysat by none other than Sonja Cox for Create N Take, and Ginni got him his first pair of Mickey Ears!

In '11 I brought 4 fabulous ladies!
4 of my team ladies and I had such a blast at Convention in Disneyland last year...and apparently we couldn't shut up about it, because...

In '12 I'm bringing 8 of my team of 12... and we cant' wait for CTMH to BRING IT ON!

Thanks for this fun contest, CTMH - and thanks for the years of super, amazing, silly, just plain fun Convention memories! I'm practically jumping up and down in my seat with anticipation, imagining what you might have in store for us... See you in Dallas!
