Later Sk8r Club Pages

It's Friday, and my fabulous club members will be here tonight to make this month's pages using these awesome new Later Sk8tr papers. I was a little worried about how I'd get along with these boy themed papers. I know, I know - I've got three boys...but you might have noticed how heavily I lean towards the glitter and flowers. I think Later Sk8r and I got along just fine...
For the first two pages I added a lot of distressing using the Black Distressing ink cube. I wasn't feeling the big splotches of paint for the StickEase, but I loved the sentiments, so I just cut them all out with my non-stick scissors. I added washi tape too - it's even holding shut the little journaling tag in the upper left corner. I'm linking this on up to the Heart 2 Heart Tuck it In Challenge - I just love hidden journaling!
For the second set of pages I created a "Polaroid" element and built that layered medallion from Art Philosophy shapes. It was hard to adjust the color on these, as the base cardstock is white, but I stamped it all over with second generation whisper ink and the mesh image from the WOTG stamp set.
This last set of pages is my favorite. I can't wait to get some pics of the boys camping this summer to add to my Adventure page. I only wish I had a little bottlecap pin flair ala UP to add...Adventure is out there! I did some paper quilting across the bottom for interest. All of the Title words are trimmed from the StickEase and a zip strip, as well as the arrows at the top.

I did a little pictorial on how to fold the paper quilt elements. We did these at Convention last year too. They are a bit of work, but so pretty once you've got them all in place. With the template shape it makes for good TV watching crafts! I use a 7/8 inch scrap of cardstock as a folding template, which makes the folding a lot simpler and faster.
I based some of my pages for this month on some pages by Shelby over at Embellish It Online. I used her pages kind of like a sketch, since her papers look nothing like these bold and bright Later Sk8r papers. I love taking her classes when she comes to Portland every year for CKC, and in August I'll be going to her Play All Day Crop in Portland. I was lucky enough to go last year with my good friend Cathy. This year you should join us - it'll be a blast!
