Mitten Mischief

I'm back with another Winter Layout featuring (what else?) the ProPlayer papers. This hexagon print is by far my favorite in the whole packet. I could have put it on everything! I'm going to link this project up to the Heart 2 Heart Mix and Mingle Challenge to use at least three stamp sets on one project. Of course, all the stamp sets I used on this layout will be available August 1st.

The first stamp set I used is the new E1027 Framework Alphabet, which I stamped onto Whisper CS and cut out to create my title. I patted Silver glitter Glitz onto the letters with a fingertip to add a bit of shimmer. I also used the music volume border image from C1566 Tech Speak turned upside down for a kind of icicle feel on the well sanded Slate cardstock layout base. Finally, on the corners of the Whisper CS underlayer for my mainframe layout I stamped the tire track border from D1564 Maximum Power in White Daisy to mimic the tire tracks in the background of the pics of my boys playing in the snow in our cul de sac.
The snowflakes are from an Artbooking Overlay, and everything was pierced using the new Stitching Guide. I like to stitch with a single strand of regular old sewing thread and a super thin needle so I don't have to work on getting the holes the right size. Plus I don't do a traditional back stitch. Rather, I skip stitches going one direction, then fill them in coming back the other way. It makes the stitching go a LOT faster. I love the detail that adding a bit of stitching brings to these plain old Whisper CS snowflakes!

Thanks for sharing this layout and all the information about how you made it. I love the idea of adding the glitz with your finger and the idea about faster stitching! Thanks again!

Wendy -

Awesome layout! I love how you are using ProPlayer for Christmas stuff - very cool use. I have a family of gamers so I was THRILLED to pieces to see a video game themed pack.

Love your use of Glitz Glitter Gel and your stitching too! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Heart2Heart Challenges this week!
