Day 31: 15 Minute Happy Birthday Card

One of the cards I made during last weekend's #PICrop was this fifteen minute birthday card challenge. Now, I don't know if you've noticed this about me...but I'm not a fifteen minute project kind of girl. Totally admire folks who do the quick but adorable thing, but it's not usually me.
I knew I'd need a place to start, so I grabbed the CAS(E) this Sketch #115, set the timer on my phone (and thank goodness that time didn't count - it took me a while to find that function), and decided that I had to use what was already on my desk, because there's no time to go browsing. I had a pile of cardstock scraps under the table from previous crop projects, so I grabbbed a bit of Cranberry cardstock for my card base and sanded it up. Then I grabbed a page of my new Simple Stories Say Cheese II pad (they carry that line at Paper Issues...but don't buy it all, I think I need more - I'm using it too fast!) I inked a panel of that awesome kraft dot with black ink. Then I popped on the balloon diecut.
I sweated a bit knowing that the challenge rules said NO STAMPS and I was trying to turn a Disney paper into a birthday card. Ack! But then I grabbed some Queen and Co star washi to base my sentiment group, and some mickey washi and tore off just the happy. I had some old winter rub-ons in my box - yup, it had a happy in it, too. Then I turned to my old friend, Keyboard Kraft Alpha to save my goose and finish the sentiment. I still missed my stamps though. So I added a row of sparkles and felt better.
You can imagine my surprise to discover I still had 5 minutes left! So I hit the inside with a bit of washi and a Simple Stories sticker...and then I added a few "snowflake" rub-ons to the front and inside of the card. Topped each with a dab of orange stickles and a sparkle...then blew and blew hopping they'd dry before 15 minutes was up. Luckily I applied very sparingly, so I finished at 14 minutes. It took me longer to set up my backdrop and photog/edit the card than it did to make it!

Hop you are having a magical day, Stampin' Friends!
