Just biking by to say "Hi!"

Ah - traveling was fun, but hanging at home in the Stamp Pad has it's benefits too...like having access to everything a girl could want to get her stamp on! So far today I've made chicken stock, GF snickerdoodles, whipped up this card using the new Freshly Made Sketch and Color Throwdown colors, took the littles to the park so I could stitch quietly to my heart's content, and now I'm blogging my way through a naptime/Moondough/Leapster quiet time...
I used the new Clementine papers and the not quite yet available It's Your Day National Stamping Month double stamp set special. I love the bold patterns in that set - reminds me of washi tape, only you can stamp it anywhere and never run out! So the Chevron and Dotty banners are stamped, and the other patterns are Clementine. I inked the "Hello, Life" image just on the edges to stamp the dotty border only onto my circle focal point, and popped up the little "Hi!" bubble. I stamped the bicycle over the sentiment circle and added Stardust Glitter Glitz and Liquid Glass to highlight the bicycle parts. Then I stitched some freehand swirls around the stamped hearts and accented the hearts with a swoop of Glitter Glitz.
Isn't this set just adorable? It becomes available on August 15th, and even better it's just $5 for TWO D-sized stamp sets (that's $35.50 retail). Amazing!! It even coordinates with the new Artiste Cricut Cartridge. Life is good...
One more peek behind the scenes...Have you even, oh, say, laid your freshly completed card into a extra puddle of Liquid Glass and made a sad smudge on the back of your pretty card? Here's how I covered that up on the back of my little bicycle card. Hooray for scraps!!

OK - time for me to ride off into the sunset (or at least to storytime), so one more reminder about my awesome Convention exclusive stamp set giveaway. It ends on FRIDAY, so get your entries in ASAP...and look for the announcement tomorrow night!

See ya back here tomorrow for our first ever Fab Friday Freebie!

Wendy, this card is gorgeous! I've got a question for you. When you add Glitz to a stamped image, have you ever had the ink run underneath? How do you deal with that?

Not liquid glass, but I can't count the number of times a customer at a workshop has knocked over my artwork samples into an ink pad. Even when I have little stands to put them on, someone always has to grab them. Le sigh....

Love your card!

I haven't had a lot of problem with that Krista, but I have noticed that the red ink colors tend to pink up and change when Glitz is applied - happens with Stickles too. I think it's because we're using waterbased dye ink pads, so adding anything wet (Glitz, Liquid Glass) has the possibility of making the ink react (bleeding, changing colors). Our new Pigment inks will fix that problem - stamp the image, let it dry or heat set it and you'll be good to go! Also, StazOn would work too. I try to just drop the glitz just where I need it and not too fine usually...here I stamped the bike in pigment ink, so no worries about spreading. I also like to do tiny dots and use a straight pin to move it about so there's less glitz on the project. Hope that helps!!
