Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring October's SOTM, which is called Home for the Holidays, a cheerful set of 7 stamps. If you have come here from PAMELA'S BLOG, you are on the right path...Here we go!
I've got two cards to share today, because I simple cannot stop making cards with this adorable stamp set. I've got a bunch of cards I've made over that past few weeks linked at the bottom of this post. For my first card I started with the new RetroSketches sketch.I wanted to do a simpler treatment of the house image, so this time I stamped it in Whisper ink and detailed it with a couple alcohol markers.
I added a darker grey color, then took off ink using the blender pen to create texture on the door and chimney. A generous helping of glitter gel snow finished off this scene nicely. I'm linking this up to this week's Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.
I wanted to share a closer look at my button treatment. I adhered clear buttons to Lagoon Heart Washi Tape with Liquid Glass. Then on the rimmed buttons I added a ring of green with an alcohol marker. Each button got a silver sequin topper and a baker's twine bow. Swap cards for next weekend - done!
I was all set to post my blog hop card, when I saw the Mojo Monday sketch...and I apparently had one more card in me this morning! I grabbed my scraps of Snowhaven B&T to build the background, highlighting the B&T patterns with my favorite gelly roll clear stardust gel pen.
I stuck to my favorite technique for this stamp set, paper piecing, and I'm linking this card to the H2H Favorite Technique challenge. I've done quite a few cards with this set, all paper pieced in some fashion. I don't know that I've used many of the images whole in my projects. I absolutely adore this polar bear, and I can't believe I've waited so long to add some wiggly eyes onto him. I altered his paper pieced scarf with markers and sparkly gel pen. I grabbed that sentiment from the Trick or Treat Sweets stamp set.
In the top corner of the card I couldn't resist adding my last sparkly black button from my stash bowl. I tucked in a few sequins topped with bitty sparkles, and cut that red heart by hand from shimmer trim to finish off my cluster.
